The 1956 Volkswagen Beetle has a seized engine. It was sitting for 40 years before we pulled it from it's soon to be grave. If we can't get this engine unstuck we will replace it. Join along on the journey of this forgotten old car revival series.

Many years ago my brother-in-law sold his 1956 VW bug. Two months later two cops were at his front door to arrest him. You see, the car was still registered in his name and had been used as the get away car in a bank robbery. He wasn't arrested but it was a fun story he told for years.

Fill the block with diesel and let it soak for a few days. You'll probably still need to strip it but at least you won't have to beet the shyte out of the pistons to get them out.

No way that bug sat anywhere for 40 years. The tires are still round, there is 0 dirt,crud,leaves on the car, the tail lights are shiny, it's too clean overall. It's an Oval - but it's a staged rescue.

Ever stop to think that he already brushed that stuff off? Oh... and as for the garbage in the engine bay, mice and other small animals crawl inside, bring that trash with them to make a nest and to eat. VERY common problem in that area. You sure are dumb!

Don't know what oil you're putting in the cylinders but I'd mix some auto Trans fluid and some diesel or kerosene and fill the cylinder with as much as you can get in. I like the idea of filling the crankcase also...

Kinda like the look of the chrome oversized wheels with that original paint. Leave the paint and make it a little ratty looking. Great sleeper car potential.

Since in this s instance ,the cars intended to turn the motor instead of the motor intended to turn the car, fourth gear is what you need to do what you’re doing but I’m sure you already know that. I had a truck sitting in front of my mom‘s house in third gear and it was a three on the tree, and it got hit in the back end and it Chugalug all the way down in front of my next-door neighbors house before it stopped! I had one that I completely rebuilt in the early 1970's. I only had to put the final paint over the primer coat. It had new everything on the inside. The inside was painted, new headliner, seats were reupholstered and I rebuilt the engine. Life got in the way with work etc. , then I went off to the Peace Corps. When I came home, I lost interest in it. It sat in my parents barn for many years. Dad wanted it moved out and I ended up giving it away to a man that worked at my father's company. I guess I should have kept, but it is long gone now.

haha, we lost power one night and it was raining . I go out to find ole yellow and try and start it. well you saw the edited down version of starting it . I spent 20 minutes wrapping the cord and pulling the starter in the rain only to realize it had the on off switch ...in OFF of course lol. I finally got it to run after dropping the bowl and was digging for an extension cord when the power came back on ...1 hour later HAHA!
