As a kid I always wanted a RC plane. I still remember the first one I ever seen. It was a hobby grade gas powered plane that was sitting in my mom's friends garage. I thought it was so cool and seeing the parts and him working on it. Then one day I watch him start it and got to see it fly. I lived in a small impoverished town and nobody had anything like it so it was very impressive. I didn't even own name brand shoes so we definitely couldn't afford one. Now as a parent I bought my daughter an acro RC plane. We assembled it together and I love seeing her being able to do something I wanted to do so bad as a child, FLY!!! When I was 7, my older brother got a go cart. He road all around the neighborhood with his freinds all day. He finally agreed to let me take a turn after our neighbor took his . Happy Thanksgiving! The toy I always wanted when I was a kid was a dirtbike. I guess you could say its not really a toy but as a child, I grew up around multiple people who rode dirt bikes. I had always wanted one but my parents were not fortunate enough to be able to afford one. I did however get to ride with my cousins and still had an amazing childhood that I will never forget! Back then, as today, there were various sizes and price points for Lego sets. The cheapest ones today are about $8, and the most expensive ones (that you can buy at a store) are several hundred dollars. Great video and tips Russ. The one thing I always wanted to a 4 channel Dokorder reel to reel tape machine with simul-sync. Yes, at 13 years old I wanted to do overdubs! But as it turned out I eventually got to do overdubs on many different kinds of tape machines from 4 channel analog to 32 track digital. I've been making my living as a recording engineer for over 40 years. So now I just want a new DRONE!

Happy Thanksgiving, Russ; from Bismarck, ND. I can't think of any toy I wanted for Christmas and did not get. I was fortunate to grow up in an upper middle class family. The Christmas tree was piled with too many gifts most years and we soon forgot about most of them. Many of the recent Christmases we have donated money to give underprivileged people in other countries useful items like goats, sewing machines, LED lighting, or water purification/filtration system. This is going to sound crazy, but as a child, I wanted a marionette puppet. We didn’t have much money at the time, so I went to the library, got some books on puppet making, and constructed my own. I came across it a few years ago and gave it to my son. It was poorly carved, using my Dad’s pocket knife and I showed my son the scars on my fingers from when my Dad’s knife blade would snap across my fingers. As a child, I was proud of what I did and learned that I can make my own happiness. I believe I counted 4 nutcrackers (it was hard to see on an old small iPhone 🤣). As a kid for years all I wanted for Christmas was a chemistry set, 1979 JCPenny Christmas catalog, page 441, Section C. (item 7) $36.49 plus tax. I was 8. I was told “You’ll blow the house up!”. I asked for this exclusively at Christmas till I was 15. I guess around 16 I found out about chemistry and girls. Then at 18 I got my own place but by then one of them had me tied to the porch. Every Christmas I mention it but she agrees with them, “I’m gonna blow the house up!” I seen four nutcrackers.

Hey Russ. The one thing that I wanted growing up but never seemed to get them were called jumping stilts. Seeing all those cartoons of Wile Coyote and the road runner running down the road as fast as it possibly could made me want to be able to go just as fast and these stilts advertised running capabilities of 7-10 mph for a youth set. Hey Russ, I bought my first Drone this year after watching a lot of your videos and others to make a decision, but I keep coming back to yours. My childhood toy I never got were the Lego Millennium Falcon, and Lego Death Star, we just couldn't afford them but I did get to help my friend build his Death Star. Also I counted 4 nut crackers.

Have a great Thanksgiving. I always wanted my own bicycle but we had 12 in our family back in the 50's. I was number ,6 so when I finally got a bike it was well used for sure. I only saw 4 on the shelf.
