I'm watching this video for the third time and really listened. You can tell these guys love boxing and know boxing, they were from an era where boxers were kings. Truth is that boxing by the rules is not enough to separate yourself in a fight against another boxer. These guys added other stuff, improvised, learned from practical experience that most ppl don't get. I think what they got sounds good and makes sense.

I used to be an actor, and was on set once with an actor who bought his bodyguard, a guy who had done serious time. Between takes, he showed me some jailhouse moves - the focus was on swiftly immobilizing an opponent with strikes from unusual angles and then breaking contact as quickly as possible, before his buddies or corrections officers roll up on you. It’s true grappling wasn’t nearly as popular back then, but I don’t think you want to fight on the ground in prison if you can avoid it. I was a fairly decent boxer and I didn’t see any of it coming. Most of the strikes also lent themselves to a short-bladed dagger when available.

As a Kick boxer and jiu jitsu guy, this idea is actually kind of fascinating. I won't go off the handle and claim this looks like a world class system. But I can say these guys can throw hands. Peoole put so much emphasis on style. When it reality fighting is hitting something/someone. Techniques don't make you a better "hitter" just teach you how to hit. What these gentlemen have (they seem very personable and probably most are violent criminals lets be real) have the one thing that makes you a real hitter. Thats called work ethic. They don't out punch you they out work you simple as that. Mad respect for taking jack shit and making the best they could out of it. You don't defeat a person with a technique you crush them with blood, sweat, and tears.

Let me say this from my own experience, if you aren't groomed as a boxer ,with an educated lead hand,have proper form and a basic understanding of defense than this skill set may be a waste of time. But if you wrap this around your boxing knowledge you'll make the most out of this art. Things I've learned in basketball helped me in my inside fight. So it works if you work it. Rue U That shit is power rangers fighting. Look up their drills dude it looks so impractical. The only reason people think its so cool is because its no holds barred and used by some military. It has no answer for takedowns and the way they block straight punches is to push the punches away from you as they are being thrown like someone is gonna walk up to you and throw 5 of the exact same straight punches and shoulder level with no curce at all and then stand straight up like a plank of wood while you pick a time to shoot in, stand up, get into position, and then do a fancy hip toss. Does it look badass? Absolutely but its about as practical in a legit fight as tai chi
@thesandman31966 жыл бұрын
Rue U What are you talking about? I dont wanna take a martial art that I dont think is a further improvment of regular grusome fighting. If you just give up as soon as you hit the ground and know no takedown defense than youre forever going to be one bums rush away from losing a fight. Krav maga is all about getting up close and finishing quick while your average brawler is about the same basic shit..."fuck this guy up". When two people move in at the same time they collide. If you dont know how to grapple and you and a larger man, lets say a middle aged shiploader, clash like that than your whole fight just ended, is that what youre saying.

I'm not saying this doesn't work, but I can attest to Krav Maga being effective. Many of the KZbin videos of Krav don't show Krav as it is taught by the IDF. It is violent, aggressive, and to the point. There isn't a techniques that we use where we employ the hip throw, if a house wife can't so it, it isn't used. There are 2 schools of thought on Krav, civilian and military. I can only speak on the military Krav Maga.

"Using the elbow as a blade" to destroy a persons jabs comes from the action of holding the knife in reverse or (earth) grip after drawing it and putting it parallel to your forearm. When you're empty hand with no knife your elbow serves as a blade. That technique was shown to me by my Guro and reiterated by his Guro's Ron Balicki and Dan Inosanto when I studied from them. Not to name drop but its seriously a common technique found in most of Inosanto's DVD and even Demo's here on KZbin.

What a lot of people don't know is that most modern martial arts training incorporates FMA into its curriculum. What these guys are doing is not really their own version of an FMA system in its traditional form, but just incorporating what works for them into their own system which is based on fighting in situations where weaponry is a dimension that needs to be covered and taught quickly. And what better martial art for weaponry is there than FMA?

So long story short,, if all these people on here would stop saying that this is better than that and just be like water like Bruce Lee said then they can be true martial artists,,,, it's not about what's better it's about inner peace,, bettering your health,, staying fit,, to help sustain owns life,, building respect for self and others,, discipline,, controlling emotions.. ect ect ect.......

I'm always curious to see any new styles or variations of styles come out. I think when someone says "x" style can beat "y" martial art etc, you also have to keep in mind that the practitioners, or fighters are also a big part of that scenario. Tae Kwon Do and karate were thought to be useless, then Machida, Wonderboy, Pettis etc, showed up, Judo has great applications, boxing, muay thai etc. I think there is something good in 52 blocks, maybe it's not better than "x" or "y" for YOU, maybe it is, but why straight up $h!t on something is beyond me.
@RUDOseil6 жыл бұрын
Machida, Wonderboy and Pettis use the stances from those fighting styles. They don't strike or block like those styles beyond occasional kicking. It's an awkward stance to defend against but the hand work in TKD and Karate is crap when it comes up against kickboxing and real boxing. Having your hand so low is asking to get KO'd. Plus barely anyone in MMA does those fighting styles so it's hard to find sparring partners to train for those guys. They're great starting blocks but as what you should take with you to fight a trained opponent. Not nearly enough.

Ive boxed, Ive played at Wing Chun, and a variety of other martial arts over my 40 years. 1. All this racists shit means nothing, proves nothing(except what manner of trash the poster is) and should treated as nothing. 2. The function of all Martial Arts, or Martial systems is at their heart, discipline. A well trained man is a well trained man. If you train hard you will develop keen eyes and quick reflexes, so to dismiss 52 Blocks is stupid, and to think that 52 Blocks will make a lazy fighter a good fighter is also stupid. 3. A caveat-- I have never sparred with, trained with, or in person encountered a 52 Blocks disciple. Not being stupid enough to believe youtube is a good example of a fighting system I confess my ignorance of the system. 4. If you love martial arts than take this video as introduction to something you arent familiar with, if you are a bigot against black people why the fuck are even bothering watching the video, and if you are a bigot against white people why the fuck are wasting mental energy reply to youtube racists. 5. If you are on youtube anonymously telling people how tough you are and how you will fuck them up, you are in point of fact a coward. 6. Thank you uploader for the video. I know the Blacks(tend) at the local Mosque practice Wing Chun, but I will surely keep an eye out for 52 players to see if I can afford myself a legit encounter with the system. God bless you all. EDIT: grammar and spelling errors

And black people love Martial arts go into any black persons house the will have a Bruce Lee posted in the Living room
@RedSky-vf8bf8 жыл бұрын
So what if they have a Bruce Lee poster? Most black households also have a bunch of Jesus imagery scattered around, but over 75% of those households are a *single mother* with a bunch of bastard kids by multiple fathers. Just cause you rep with a poster or some shit doesn't mean you know anything or are truly dedicated to it.

I'm only seeing racial bs from black people posting, talking about how boxing was never European. Pls stfu you blacks are the most racist folks in the US, every immigrant learns that when living in the inner cities for a year or two.

PC Principal did you really defend 52 block style? This is full of shit. I mean I'm opened minded but this crap against a MMA or a BJJ/Vale Tudo....useless.

I love love love this style it reminds me of when I used to take Kung Fu San Soo and my instructor was a former pro boxer and he Incorporated his system into of boxing into Kung Fu San Soo and made it a whole new style this is a really good form of fighting and I'm at a boxing club now I'm going to be practicing this system with some other things that I'm learning it's always good to make your own way of fighting

Boxing is not a European martial arts.....Boxing existed since the time of Nuba's including the dawning ages of Kemetites and Kushites and so on.....

Why not challenge openly other styles to demonstrate? Why not just give a demonstration? Its hard to imagine this style without seeing it against a boxer, MMA, street fighter? With all due respect.
@mpforeverunlimited6 жыл бұрын
Bobby Mobay because the point isn't to prove anything. it's survival. they don't care about being the best fighter in the world or proving their style is the best. they just don't want to get raped or murdered. this is also why shaolin monks don't try to prove their skill
@lozza9256 жыл бұрын

High kicks don't work outside of a cage bro. You don't know wtf you are talking about. You going to try to kick someone in tight spaces? No you can't. I can go on. Ufc is not the same as real life no rules or mats. Pretty kicks are good for movies.
