oh yeah, steel dash , no seat belts. back in the day i had a 64 falcon and 2 - 63 comets, i really wish i had them now. i paid $35 for the falcon$75 for one comet $50 for the other . gas was about 25 cents a gallon and i made $1.25 an hour at the golden arches. those were the days.

@@BudgetBuildz I like aluminum radiators though on RWD cars because their light weight helps traction and rwd cars need every bit of traction they can get. Rear battery helps too, but if there is no place in the wagon, then try combining a very small battery with a supercapacitor. Just being a wagon helps traction too, which is part of the reason I prefer wagons.

They came from the factory with a double action fuel pump that had a vacuum booster for the wipers. The vacuum line you pointed out connects to the vacuum booster. The pump you installed with the filter on top was used on 1963 and later models. Thanks for saving that wagon, it has a lot of potential!

Got to tell my 19 yo son that when I was growing up we had one of these my middle sister drove to school and she painted the car navy blue, the roof white and the wheels red, with a paintbrush! In was one 1976 so she called it the spirit of ‘76 as well as painted that name in red underneath the drivers side windshield wiper! Those were some awesome times in my life! My older sister had the little sedan of the same year, 61 ish and I’ve still got a warbuncle on my forehead where I flew into the metal dash as my teenage sister went roaring across one of our southern Montana cow pastures and hit a washout! Wow, those were the days. That little car was the same green color of your wheels.😂

My cousin used to have one of those. Here in Argentina Falcons were made up till the early 1990s. You can still see older an newer models on the road. They had the 3.0L (188) and the 3.6L (221) engines. The majority with manual gearbox, we are not very used to AT (nowadays maybe younger people are) . Those cars are bulletproof and easy to repair. Really nice video .

That would be the bomb of an old wagon going out on the beach! I had an old 60 falcon and the carburetor was a holly, but it had a glass fuel bowl. I live in Georgia and as I can best recall my Dad had one of these and the color was a very light green. This would have been in the late 60's or early 70's when he had his. On another note I'd like to say that you all have good taste in music. Silent Partner is a good band. They have a couple of other songs that I like quite a bit and that would be "Swamp Stomp" and "Accidents Will Happen". One final item is I remembered this car is equipped with a generator. Whenever the generator or voltage regulator is replaced the generator MUST BE POLARIZED or there is risk of damage to the electrical system.

That car had a lot more paint left than I originally thought it did. It cleaned up a lot better than I expected. You are correct. The brakes are going to be a major issue on this car. They are unobtainium. You may end up having to do some type of conversion on it. It is worth it though. I love stuff like this, especially when you literally pull it out of the woods like this. Good luck on the brakes. It runs really well, considering the condition it was in and the amount of time it sat. You got lucky there.

I’d just have to do the bodywork, strip off the rust, and paint it. Personally, I don’t even mind a little fiberglass and bondo body repair to bring something like this back to shine ‘on the cheap’. Others may object to it but I understand that not all cars are worth professional, show car level restorations; rather trying to make something look the best you can with the focus being on the grunt work, not the money and looking good while driving the fun out of it!
