I’d go with am8 and sc1. In case the sc1 breaks, the am8 still functions in usb mode. K669d can’t do that

hey Dave. I've watched a couple of your videos now (Including other people) To see which mic i should get. I saw your top comment asking a similar question. I'm on a very tight budget, so if i don't have to id rather not have to buy an interface. Would you say its okay to have the K688 without one. If you really recommend getting one i will. i see the Focusrite Vocaster One going for about £59.99. Also great videos. finding them very helpful. Before i started looking i was going to get the hyperx quadcast. I'm pretty convinced that the FiFine K688 is alot better.

K688 without an interface is great for 99% of people. :) The Vocaster is still an upgrade, but not necessary.

Only if you need to plug an instrument into it and need additional volume. Otherwise, you’re good!

i just watched a video on the focusrite vocaster one paired with a 990 250ohm and it seemed adequate, is that comparable to this? or is the focusrite a little better/ more powerful

If you’re using the DT770 Pro 250 ohm, you’d need a higher end interface. I was personally comfortable with its volume level on the Vocaster Two, but it wouldn’t get louder than that comfortable level. The Motu M2 can drive those headphones more.
