what that first guy said I agree that moral standards had slipped. I lived in red road flats in the 90's( I realise these flats in this video are not red road though), but those red road flats were the nicest thing in Springburn at the time. The concierge were great and the flats were nice inside. was really tidy and well kept. I eventually moved away. But a few years later I decided to go back and take photos of the red road flats for memories as I used to live there and it was my first place since leaving mum and dad's house. I was shocked at the state of the place and how much they let it go, it was very sad to see tbh and I was genuinely shocked at the decline. But I also suspected they let it go as the council probably knew they were going to get demolished so didn't care anymore. Really I know a lot of people didn't like them but I got a lot of nice memories of living there. Yes of course the odd not so nice memory but mostly really nice memories. TBH I have a much nicer home now but it is odd in a way as although I do, I still miss my wee flat to this day and the view out the window as well as the handiness of the town. I suppose I just mean they really weren't that bad, it is the same with everywhere it is the people who let the place down. This said my neighbours were great there. In fact I never got so friendly like that with any neighbours' since. They were brand new and were not bad people at all. I miss them too tbh.

I lived in block 75 flat 17/2 from 91-97 and my brother Gordon was found dead in there, soon after I moved out, it was an experience to say the least, concierge were amazing and put up with a lot with drug dealers.

Brought up in Plean St , albeit we lived in the tenements facing the clinic ( no 27) from mid 70s to mid 80s, even then we didn’t move too far . But we watched the decline from mid 80s onwards. We though ,had the best childhood growing up there , playing in and around the flats , on the old disused railway line and around the clinic ( got my first winch round the back of the clinic ). Big sideys in the football pitch that was between both blocks. The flats were our playground for playing hide n seek , 2 man hunt , kiss cuddle n torture 🤣🤣. Endless summers building swings and dens. Penny fir the guy outside the Dry Dock. The people that lived in the flats back them were all hard working normal people and the landings were immaculate . Both blocks had live in caretakers that took care of the day to day upkeep of the flats , but I think they were eventually done away with , which might coincide with the demise . Sad end to what used to be a great wee “ community “

Wow, the unusual elevator shafts or lifts like stairs mode, even floors, and odd floors, not usual. I remember the Villa Panamericana in Puerto Rico have this unusual configuration of the lifts.

They should have kept the flats for families only. Such a shame.

This video makes me sad haha! I used to live in block 55 flat 8/5 in the years '95-'00 (aged 3 to 8). Was young but the memories I had there will never leave me lol.
