2.8t over 2.3t. I've had both. Tuned both, big turbo on the 9-5, the 9-3 is an easier platform to make power on. Loved all 4 of my 9-5s though, but couldn't buy the big turbo with what it cost to get to ~ 400hp/500ft lb on my 9-3. Not to mention no custom work because you only need a gutted stock turbo rebuilt to your spec, tune, injectors and cooler plugs. The trump for me however, all wheel drive with a manual transmission. My big turbo set up on my 9-5s all had horrible torque steer. So much so, my tuner and I started limiting max torque in the first two gears. Hope this helps. Both will be fun with enhancements. I like the look of the 9-5 more than the 9-3. But I'm tuning on a budget these days.

@@yuhmadorwah you think it would be a fun project to power up my 06 2.0 T 9-3 or should I get a 2.8T
@yuhmadorwah3 жыл бұрын
@@sspoolin if money is an issue, it is cheaper to make power out of the 2.8t without blowing the bank. The cost of VTuner stage 2 kit rated at 390hp, 425 ft-lb is about $2799 (last I checked). That includes turbo, tune, and injectors. A couple other misc. things. Everything bolts up, the turbo is gutted and rebuilt, but same placement. So if you're handy with a wrench it saves the money for installation. If money is plentiful, then you can't go wrong. There are people all over doing big turbo kits for both engines. At that point, pick the best car (condition) and go for it. The 2.0 will be a dog down low in comparison.
