Another possible subtle hint at one of the killer's identity is when Stu, Sidney and Tatum are talking at the lockers, Stu is checking his forehead in a hand held mirror, possibly checking for any marks from headbutting Sidney. Also, speaking of the scene where Ghostface attacks Sidney for the first time, I only found out recently that when they're running up the stairs, you can hear what sounds like Stu talking.

Yeah in each film they layered in the sound of who's meant to be behind the mask at the time grunting or reacting to being hit etc. So in Scream 2 when Gale and Dewey are attacked after watching the video, you can hear a woman moaning when Gale ducks and ghostface falls over the barrier as at this point it's meant to be Billy's mother attacking them

I got one that I rarely see anyone talking about. After Ghostface "stabs" Billy, you can clearly see the edge of the knife is clean and that Ghostface applies the fake blood afterward for the next shot (Ghostface keeps his hands on the blade to smear the fake blood) to then wipe it off in front of Sidney, selling the kill. So in the first scene, there’s sort of an unspoken subject between the filmmakers and the audience about land line technology for the time. Which is, that when you are on the phone with someone else and you hang up, but the other person doesn’t, you still stay connected to that call on your end. You see this illustrated in how since Casey doesn’t hang up the call is technically still going, and if she hangs up and try’s to call the cops on that same line, it’ll only bring her back to the call with the killer if the killer hangs up. And so when Casey’s mom picks up a different phone she hears Casey on the other end still on the line with Billy/Stu, who both could’ve possibly been in a group call the whole time. Until the killer makes the killing stab and the line goes to a busy tone.. They really did think about the benefits and limitations of telephone technology for the mid 90s, remember Caller ID didn’t even exist yet.. but group calls did, and if you left your phone off the hook you were pretty much stranded...
@TooBokoo3 жыл бұрын
Trials for Caller ID were running in the early 80s. It was made available by 1988 in limited markets and had fairly widespread use by the early 90s. Although, it certainly wasn't commonplace. I'd actually say it's rather surprising that the homes of these kids didn't have Caller ID, considering it appeared that most of their parents were quite well off. Although, I suppose it wouldn't really matter considering Billy mentioned cloning cell phones in the movie.

There is something else that I noticed in the movie as well and I hope others do to. But after Tatum dies billy shows up at the door and looks at stew and lifts his eye brows at him before he enters the home letting him know that he that he did kill Tatum then stew gets happy and then billy comes in and goes upstairs with Cindy

I actually think Scream is mostly like Sleepaway Camp. Both have that making fun of vibe to them, but both still have good killing scenes and can be actually creepy. And they don’t put humor at the fore front. Only differences with the type of person the killer is and how their sequels’ direction went (Scream mostly more scary while Sleepaway Camp went more campy and horror comedy). I will say that Sleepaway Camp (the first one) has the better kills, since it does the unexpected.

3:22 the funny thing about these two statements is that the movie was never intended to be called Scream it was initially going to be called Scary Movie a play on horror movies and them being a vital role in Billys motive and Drew had initially signed on to play Sidney and the guy who played her boyfriend was either one of the two final actors for Billy or he was the final actor but she thought it would be more affective and make more of an impact since she was one of the more well known actresses at the time if she was one of the first to be killed off because it would set the tone of the movie and have fans think anything can happen, this is why she was also heavily featured in promo pictures because I don't think fans would've believed that Drew would've been killed off so easily and quickly

I have a theory that when “Don’t fear the Reaper” plays when Billy enters Sidney’s house, it’s to drown out the noise while Stu is downstairs kidnapping Neil. What backs this up is the fact that Neil is wearing the same clothes as that night.

7:55 Interesting. I thought the use of the song Don't Fear The Reaper was really there as a form of irony, since it played when Sidney's boyfriend was visiting her - as if to say 'Don't worry : he's just trying to kill you'.

I always thought that it was Stu on the phone with Casey. The voice and Stu both do that "ah-hah" thing while they talk. Like Stu did with Randy in the video store.

When Stu goes "I didn't kill anybody" and Billy says "Nobody said you did" it always pisses me off because someone (Randy?) definitely implied Stu killed Casey earlier in the convo.

You obviously weren't invested in the video if you let a single fucking word kill the whole 16 minutes for you. How about this, go research a horror series as extensively as he does, use perfectly clean language(I better not see any complaints in your comment section!) And get more views and show him how it's done. Oooorrrr you can just come here, bitch and moan and try to tear down a content creator who's clearly more talented than you. Actually, you should totally do the second one. Hell, hey bother making anything when breaking shit is just So MuCh FuN?!
