This gives me goosebumps. My husband was a fanatic for steel guitar. He is gone now, fought bravely against his cancer. He went to every steel guitar convention in Dallas, brought back many CD, and played them for me. It made me melt.

Sorry for your loss. I love steel guitar I'm going to make my own steel trying to decide how many strings.

@@morgan79347 Thank you. My husband loves steel guitar so much, he actually wanted to learn how to play this awesome sounding instrument. He bought a used one and set it up in our big front room. After having to listen to his attempt of how to play it, it drove me crazy. Told him I couldn't stand it and he needed to set up outside in a shed. It never came to that, because of how sick he got from his cancer. After he died, I wanted to throw it out. My daughter wanted it and she keep's that old thing in our bar. It just sits there collecting dust. I wish you the best with your steel guitar.
@ВладимирИльин-о4к2 жыл бұрын
@@morgan79347 This is really a problem: how many strings and what will be the instrument's tuning, and even in what place to mute them. I can only tell you that the slider should have a maximum mass, low frequencies will depend on this (recommended lead-filled construction in a thin-walled brass tube) and additionally, you need to study the system of the Russian seven-string guitar, as it is more suitable for playing in minor harmonies. This will make it easier for you to play in modern fashion styles.

@@Lysaa62 My maternal Grandfather was from France. He died before i was born but my mother was very French. She was his 13 child and apparently a favorite. Tiny at 4'10" she was beautiful had a lovely voice. Sounded like Judy Garland. Everyone called her prissy! Anyway, we learned french also thru her. My daughter took 4 years of french in high school and Japanese as electives in secondary. I am retired now and have enjoyed the Steel Guitar playing i have heard recently. I am going to try and find one and learn to play. We have in the past had a mandolin but that was my daughters. I do play C Harmonica and flute and pan not very good. We, daughter usually find instruments in Tennessee. I am very impressed with your portfolio. You must be very knowledgeable . Thank you for replying.🌞

After having just watched a few Buddy Emmons videos, I seem to like David Hartley's playing even more. He took it a bit further, and was even more musically BRILLIANT. I still love Buddy Emmons's playing though, especially my recordings of him with Lenny Breau, but David Hartley was not just a great pedal steel guitar player, but also a great MUSICIAN. He was a Maestro who can never be replaced. He caught my heart with the sound of his pedal steel guitar playing the first time I heard it (just this year), and will likely never let go...~!
