My parents had a 1963 Rambler Classic Wagon until 1970. I learned how to drive a stick, 3 on the tree in it. 232 straight six, 3 sp, drum hydraulic brakes, no PS, w/aftermarket Sears AC. We went on quite a few vacations in it too!

With the Pontiacs, the "Safari" name was used for ALL the wagons (as far as I gather and recall), but the difference is that the "Star Chief" trim package name was used for their version of the Nomad and was called a "Safari Custom", and the other 2-door models (comparable to the Chevy Handyman) and the 4-door models did NOT carry the additional "Custom" name and had different trim package names like "Chieftain" and "Super Chief". Therein lies the confusion, I believe. And yes, obviously, the "Transcontinental" name was also applied. WHAT A GREAT COLLECTION, THOUGH!

There's an El Morocco in there....and the Nash wagon grille mimics the Nash-Healey. Nice touch.

My dad had a 4-door "Moonmist yellow" and white Voyager. It was one of the nicest cars that he ever owned. In my opinion, the grill and tailgate treatment was nicer than the '58 model.

if there ever was a place where crowd funding or something would maybe work this is it. dont know much about that kind of thing but would be nice to know it was all preserved.

miss all that visiblity, theres an old edsel in a junkyard near me with pretty nice top half and cant believe how much effort went into styling and building all the windows with the stainless trim.

Is that Senator Barry Goldwater? Republican nominee for the 1964 Presidential election. On a different note My model car collection is based around the year 1960 with car advertisements to match although I have some 1959's & 61's too. A theme helps you focus your collector efforts.

It's the only Barry Goldwater I'm aware of. If it isn't, then why would he have mentioned it? Cool car!!

I think Rambler also had a pillarless wagon available that year as an option. This video sounded like it was uploaded to YT several years after it was shot. Is there any update on where this collection is today?

2012 upload, so I wasn’t aware, thanks. So it seems that he moved all of this collection to MO soon after this, in hopes there was enough tourism in Branson. He also had a real estate development, and that it was that failure that caused him financial trouble, “due to the economy,” the housing bubble which bursted in 2008. Sounds like he was investing in too much too fast. ...Dick Clark’s American Bandstand restaurant? We had one of those in Dallas, back in 1997. ...if it didn’t close in 1998, then 1999. Food wasn’t good, menu unappealing, and most of the people eating there had never watched the show, let alone had heard of it, so the novelty of a themed restaurant was lost. I am surprised to hear that it was even still around in 2006.
