Thank God for these videos! New to rowing and just did my first 5k. The pacing in your video gave me a plan, and I met my plan. Big thanks for putting this out there!

Excellent , really good video. Great knowledge. I used to do always 10k rows, this 5k is more realistic and less damaging

future times try a 5km in the morning and 5km in the evening. You will be going harder so more total output.

@@devinerentalsltd8708 the chance would be fine thing .. my rowing and squash are distant memories.... I will get back into it after this covid 19 thing. How long do you think lock down will last ?

I'm doing a 30:00 for distance tomorrow. I'll use this as a basic template.

Really enjoyed the video. It’s very informative and I really liked the graph since I’m also a visual learner. One request: would you clarify what you mean by aerobic versus strength athlete. Thanks!

My window for attaining my dream 5K time is slowly closing. (Age.) I've adjusted my damper setting and stroke-rate to knock more than a minute off my PB, but I'm wondering if my warmup is the final element I need to address; I don't think I'm ever 'hot and sweaty' enough. And I have a very, _very_ bad first-wind in _any_ exercise, no matter what the medium is. Although this video is five and a half years old, I thank you for providing its insights.

What's your dream 5K time? This was a year ago also, did you achieve it??

What is the resistance (da,mper) for the machine when rowing 5K? I usually leave the leaver between 4-5 and I have been averaging 20'. I want to go below 20. Is this a factor?

They're not so bad...if you're regularly doing 10ks. : )

5k is my go to. As long as am only going for around the 20min row time. Anything less is full on. Fastest 2k is not fun 😂

Any race pace row is painful but if your just putting in some work it’s not too bad.

Have a bet on with a mate for fastest 5K before our christmas lunch. Loser pays. Round one: him 19:32, me: 19:06. Round two: him 18:50 me: getting it done tomorrow. Will update post row

What do you mean by "Time Cap"? Two weeks ago I bought a Concept 2. I didn't know about 2k or 5k tests but got into that very fast because of KZbin. I did 5k on 18:27 Min today. What is an good time for 25 y/o male?

Jonathan Plaß what’s your height and weight? They have the records on the concept 2 website for all age groups in light weight and heavy weight in 2km. I’m 34 5’10 and bit out of shape but with athletic background doing 19mins 5km so now got something to aim at ;)
