I also signed up for the Madrid vintage run, did a 5k yesterday @ my 10k target pace, i stopped at 4,20ish km completely dead and out of breath 😵

@@IRunThings if i manage to see you I'll say hi! To be honest yesterday i was so disappointed but i managed not to cry 😂 it was suoer windy (also in your trial!) so i hope that was the reason. I run a 53 ish minute 10k last month but this time around i want to dream big and set my goal at 50min, it's not looking good so far 😂 i'm counting on the 1% incline 😂😂

Be kind to yourself. 5k time trials are brutally hard, and you got out there and did it. You're building to something good.

Great stuff, Suzie! Yeah, don't overlook the value of fresh legs. For what it's worth, I did a 5k time trial about a week ago and my time was slower than yours. In my case it was the mileage I've been running. My legs were so heavy that my heart rate wouldn't even go up. But you've got the strength and you'll always have the endurance, and you're in great shape. And threshold pace responds really quickly to training. You put a score on the board and it's one that you'll be able to improve on.

It's the beginning of your training plan - that will improve by the time you get to the end! 6 weeks or so before CIM last year I ran a half at nearly the same pace as what I ended up running the marathon at. Just keep truckin', it'll get there
