Hi! I am a female who has been practicing Calisthenics for about two years. I've never attempted human flag for some reason, but I'm going to give it a go with your tips. It's very rare to find another female who practices Calisthenics and provides good tutorials, so I subscribed to get some inspiration! Btw, could you do a front lever tutorial at some point? I've been trying to get mine for ages!

Your presentations are very engaging Iris. I'm 63 years old but watching your grace and form motivates me to continue. Keep shooting videos and I'll keep watching. I can hold the HS but balance is hit and miss. Like to see your tips on finding balance every time. Peter (Australia).

Hello :) When training for the human flag, do you train both sides, or just the stronger one?
@lucasstadler81722 жыл бұрын
Always train both sides to avoid muscle-imbalances

Great video! I will start training for the flag, I thought it will take years to get it and never trained for it. When you started training for the human flag, what was your strength level? Could you already do ring dips,pull ups back then?
@iris_easy4 жыл бұрын
As with everything in calisthenics it of course depends on the current level that you have before you start training it. In my case it was the first static skill that I learned. When I started training it I did 3 clean pull-ups and I was really bad at dips (maybe 3-4 on rings, can't remember properly). I was training flag 2x a week. In fact 90% of the girls that want to learn static skills start with back lever and/or human flag since you can build it up nicely step by step (specifically mentioning the girls because they normally have a harder time than guys). However, what is really important is that your shoulders are stable enough and you also have the small inner muscles trained well enough (this was the case for me since I always did a lot of sports!).

Hi, What if you don't have the strength to hold yourself up on the pole? How would your train to get your shoulders strong enough to hold yourself up?
@iris_easy3 жыл бұрын
Side planks on the floor are a good start for the pushing arm :)

Wenn ich human flag übe kippe ich immer nach links oder rechts zur seite. Hast du ne Idee was ich falsch mache?
@iris_easy4 жыл бұрын

Why i get Shoulder pain when i attempt the human flag ??
@leinadllerp2 жыл бұрын
but why should a beginner start overhead when its just as hard at the bottom? there is 0 advantage from starting from the top but its about 20 times more dangerous.
