One of the craziest games I've ever seen. I don't think the bengals ever got over this loss. So many penalties, so many injuries that I remember, this was a bad weather bloodbath if we've ever seen one. Funny how other teams backup qbs can come in and at times do whatever they want but our backup qbs act like they've never played before when we needed them most. Shouldve had ben in during Landrys almost crucial interception. Remember when Ben gets carted off and bengals fans threw garbage at him? Large Benjamin is a cold blooded killer and that whole stadium got what they deserved that day.
@5StarMatchup3 жыл бұрын
it was a strange day for sure. On the backup QB front-- gotta just point out that McCarron had been starting since like week 13 if I remember. A little different than coming in cold without much practice. Not that I'm gonna try to say Landry was great or anything :)

I just want to say thank you!! i remember perfectly that game and the moment, was one day before my dad´s birthday (patriot fan) and i had a stomachache too big, i was 11 years old and i wake up in the morning and my father arrived very quickly from his job and he just told me: Come on boy!! today your steelers play today in the playoffs but i really feel the stomachache, was too big and all day i can´t even get up of bed, the game started and my father just arrived in to my bedroom and we started to watch the game and it was very awesome, in that moment i forget my stomachache and started to feels good, i remember when Landry threw the interception, i was nearly to cry and i try it to start sleeping because i didn´t watch in that moment the steelers go in to the divisional round and my father just told me that there´s gonna be a way to comeback and just had the reason, Shazier made the fumble and i just wake up from bed and the steelers made the drive and it was so awesome, my father was that enery that i needed and also the steelers, I want to say thank you because you make me remember special moments with my dad, he died this year and January and this season i didn´t feel it like the other seasons, i just wanted that my dad watch me really happy for the steelers, i really appreciate your video, i love it and i was near to cry, believes me. Thank you for bringing this one back to life. This game feels like it was artificially generated by an AI that doesn't quite understand football. Random nobodies running wild on a decent D. Rain. Headshots. Backup QBs, Benjury, Martavis' catch that, despite having seen it 100 times, I still don't fully comprehend. And Joey Porter getting us 15 yards in a track suit. Nothing about this game makes any sense at all and that's why I love it.

That Burfict hit to AB was the changing momemt in the game but more importantly the changing momemt in AB's life. I actually met AB at ufc in Pittsburgh and he was such a nice calm person, after that hit he went ape shit. Look at his rap sheet, all his legal and crazy issues happened after that hit. It sucks that one hit like that can completely change someone's life, and change their life not in a good way.
@5StarMatchup3 жыл бұрын
Man it sure was a brutal hit but I just can't say definitively that was the reason. If it was though, really it's pretty scary. There are tons of people with stories where traumatic brain injury changed them completely (mostly Roseanne and a bunch of serial killers lol)

@@5StarMatchup another scary thing about brain trauma in the NFL is it makes you wonder how much of the truth goodell told us about cte? Ghost of ab is wearing 18 and probably won't arrive fully until next season. If you remember, ab dropped some balls at first as well. I remember saying, man if he'd just catch the ball before he ran he'd be so hard to defend. DJ is doing the same thing. He's playing so fast he's trying to run before the ball gets to him. He can catch anything, but he's just not looking the ball in the whole way. I think they are sb team, they just need to get it together tonight on out.
@RickAucoin Жыл бұрын
It's a classic "what if" football scenario, one that fans and sportswriters have posed thousands of times over the decades: It's the playoffs. The 4th Quarter, with only 1:36 on the clock, and your team is down by 1. ________________ Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin barely contains a beatific, content, smile... ________________ You have the ball deep in your own territory and have to drive the length of the field to get in scoring range. Who do you want as your quarterback in that situation? ________________ …as he sends in #7, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, to take the field. ________________ ________________ When you have the answer, there's no stress making the call. 😀
@RickAucoin Жыл бұрын
Roethlisberger is obviously injured from the brutal sack Vontaze Burfict hit him with in the 3rd Quarter and he clearly cannot throw the football more than 10-15 yards. But… none of that really matters. The Bengals know. Every man on the Bengals defense knows. They know. They might be ahead right now, but… Roethlisberger wins these kinds of games. That’s what the bastard does. He wins. All the Bengals needed to do was run out two minutes!! How could they have fumbled the ball back to the Steelers?? It’s as though the Football Gods truly hate the Cincinnati Bengals. ________________ And they love the Pittsburgh Steelers far too well. ________________ 👍

In fairness, with most of the killer B's, they were still only able to manage 18 on cincy then. Main thing is A, we could run the ball yes, but B and most importantly, AB and Bryant werent dropping balls left and right. Anything short of demolishing the bungals tonight and i'm going to be mad af.

this is true but your comment points out the difference in offensive coordinators IMO. I felt Haley was a much better and creative playcaller than Randy-- but he had 2 fatal flaws. Personality and red zone. As talented as those teams were, Ben's TD numbers were consistently way lower than they should've been because they were always terrible in the RZ. And the AB thing-- I just can't say that's 'the' thing ya know? He did go crazy and this did happen-- but there were signs that was always gonna happen. Thanks for watching though and let's get it done tonight!

God, Mike Mitchell was worse than I remembered
@5StarMatchup3 жыл бұрын
Man I really don't go in on players unless there's good reason. For me to openly proclaim to the entire internet that he's my least favorite Steeler of all time is so much harsher than I would normally be but my god I just thought he was terrible and I can't remember one positive impact play he made in his seemingly endless time here. He was a guy who Tomlin seemed to like from a personal/competitive standpoint but he got way too much slack for being very very mediocre and acting like he was great. He wasn't even a quarter the player RC was.

Yeah I know there is but I'm not sure he'd be old enough to have a son in the league but I could be wrong. I was a big fan of Willie, always wanted his jersey

Bro mike Tomlin is so overrated he lost to Blake bortles lost to Tim Tebow and almost lost to Andy dalton
@5StarMatchup3 жыл бұрын
no doubt the Tebow loss was terrible. The Bortles one sucked but losing Shazier late in the season really just decimated the defense, he was the only playmaker on that side of the ball back then. Depends how you define overrated though, steelers fans are pretty 50/50 on him. He has his flaws, but his resume would be the best in the history of like 24 franchises so idk how to rank him tbh.
