I stayed with my stock TRD Pro wheels (+4 offset), stayed below 3" in lift and I didn't need a BMC to fit my 33" tires. I opted for the non-testosterone look. I went with pizza cutters. Falken Wildpeak 255/80-17 A/T3W. No rub. No scrub. No slipping on spots where the wide boyz slip. A lot less dirt, rocks and junk get thrown up on to the sides of my 4Runner. Life is good.

Smart man. I’m sticking with my off-road with a +12 offset so I can do the same. Negative offset wheels also make trucks ride like crap.

Not sure what the big deal with this topic is. I ran a Toytec Aluma Series 2.5” lift, SPC upper control arms, Method 305’s with zero offset and 285/70-17 Goodyear DuraTrac’s with no rubbing, no cutting, no alignment issues. I chose this route because my local dealer at the time, Larry Miller Toyota in Colorado Springs, installs the exact same setup with zero issues.
@FourT6and226 ай бұрын
I think the deal is... a lot of people want to run lower offset wheels that look better. Like -10, -12, -17, -20, -38, etc.
@strapped_61593 ай бұрын
@@FourT6and22more of the fact that you can run 33s in a more offroad application. Where you would be flexing all the way out and have your tire cranked. Sure you can do this same setup with no trimming or cutting long as you stay on the road n occasional speedbump. Just my .02¢
@FourT6and223 ай бұрын
@@strapped_6159 I know and I agree. I was responding to the fact that the above user stated no rubbing with his setup. But he's running zero offset wheels, so of course "no rubbing" on the street. But yes, it will rub with articulation for sure. I installed 285/70/17 with -10 offset and it rubbed even on the street. Required a minor finder liner cut (no big deal) and a body mount chop. Now it doesn't rub, even with full articulation.

I think the bro crowds getting into the 4Runner scene “form over function” it’s been proven Soo many times over and over again 255 skinnier tires fit without mods and actually skinnier tires work better in every aspect, more traction longer footprint especially lowered psi and actual better rolling resistance better mpg, people just be in ball rubbing bros to get the wider tires

Damn that's a lot of cutting for some slightly larger than stock tires lol! I'm running 285s on -10 wheels at 2.5" of lift and all I did was remove the mud flaps and shave the front bumper!

I'm running -10 wheels with 285/17, 2" lift and needed a body mount chop, remove mud flaps, and cut front bumper/liner a bit. You won't rub the body mount if all you do is drive on the road/highway. But as soon as you get even a tiny bit of articulation, you will rub it.

Dont call the Falkens "snow tires". They do amazing in the snow for an ALL TERRAIN, but are not dedicated snow tires.

100%. While they are considered one of the best AT tires in the snow, tests have shown they stop roughly 30% longer than a snow tire in snowy conditions.
