Fitting 35 Inch Tires on a 5th Gen 4Runner

In this video, we show you guys how to fit 35-inch tires on a 5th gen 4Runner. We use the new Runnin4Tacos round chop plates to maximize the tire clearance. These chop plates will be available next week.

Does the inside of tire rub on uca's? I'm wanting to put 35x12.50x18 on my Runner. I have Icon uca's. Already have bmc and trimmed inner fenders.

Not sure on the wheel specs sorry. No rubbing issues. Most likely it's just a 0 offset or -10

Does anyone make a panel to protect and cover all the internals after the bumper cut? I’ve seen a reservoir skid but, does anyone make something like a formed inner fender well liner?

No one does unfortunately. But there are a few washer tank skids and even a relocate tank

Yes, SPCs are the best for adjustability.

Keep haven't and you don't need it to fit 35s

I actually have this exact setup. Stock fenders require more mount trimming. I have ADV fenders and just had to trim the mount 1/4”. You will need spacers or -25 wheels to fully clear these tires from body mount/lower fender mount/UCA. Fiberglass or not.

What does one need to do to make sure the front axles and diffs can handle the new lift and weight of the 35's?

So the OEM axles are really strong. You actually don't want them stronger because you would rather snap an axle than destroy your differential. Cheaper to fix an axle than a whole differential if that makes sense.

Fender liner trimming is needed if you are running bigger than 33" tires. Caster all the way forward for 35s

Just curious, why do you still need the plate to cover the body mount? Can't you just cut it and leave it be without having to weld-on the plate?

It will definitely rub in the top of the fenders fully flexed. You need extended bump stops to control the up travel. My 34s on TRD wheels did so I know this setup will.

they will rub when flexed. All the "no rubbing" talk is when the truck is in a flat parking lot, or making easy turns. Any full lock turns while on angle will still rub.

Hello, We only install these ourselves for local customers. You can get other brand chop plates there. The chop will not give as much clearance as a relocate kit. But depending on the shop that does it, you can get a really aggressive chop without relocating.

Depends on your setup. If you’re on big tires and long travel with little offset on your wheels, you’ll need spacers to fully clear. 34” and up you’ll need to get the tires more out so more offset or wheels spacers

Unfortunately, we do not sell our brand plates because we have had negative feedback when people take them to shops that do bad welds. It makes our product look bad. We only use those for locals that do the chop with us. You can purchase the DRT brand though. Sorry for the inconvenience.

R4T is the bomb, so glad i’m only and hour and 15 away. They just did a 3” lift on Elka 2.5 DC’s with SPC UCA’s and a few other things on my 23 SR5P so I could get 33” tires on it and had it all done in around 6.5hrs, including alignment!
