95+ is great but command still wins. Command here is poor and I bet he cant maintain the velo and throw strikes. Probably needs to be low 90s to be effective. So no, not impossible to be pro.

@@TrainAllSportsor, he can just develop command without losing velo. Not sure why people assume you have to throw slower in order to have more command. Also, his command was pretty good in here

@@nathanward5939you can get somewhat better control. But, that’s something your mostly just able to do or not. I grew up with several guys that could throw absolute heat. But, never could paint corners or have good off speed breaking stuff for strikes. There have been plenty of 95+ guys that never stuck around. Hope he does, im from tennesse and root for Vandy and UT

Checking up his stats in the minors with the Pirates... Lots of Ks but also lots of walks. All runs unearned. If he lowers the amount of BBs he's gonna be nasty.

10 inning sample size so he could have more control than what the stats show atm. I suspect he'll lower those BBs to at least the 4/9 and if he gets down to 3...that's a ticket to the majors.

He may have been offered more money out of high school. Vandy has top coaching and he was sent to the bullpen. Has a good chance in the pirates organization, might benefit being around Paul skenes. Good luck to all kids pursuing their dream. Internet scouting report Overall (40): The stuff is appealing, but Reilly hasn’t gotten to the point where he’s more than a raw arm. That profile grades well out of high school, but not as much in college, after a career that regressed to the bullpen. If the Pirates can get his stuff harnessed, they’ve got a fastball/slider reliever who knows how to add variation to both pitches.

Be careful throwing that comparison around. Logan Gilbert has tremendous command with a high effort delivery. This guy doesn’t have command in bullpens. Asking for Jacob DeGrom, Tony Gonsolin, Shane McLanahan, and many other generational talents! It's an epidemic guys, and this surely does not help. Sad to see
