Ford is asking me 1,600.00 bucks for this fix, and yes it does make it shift harder, but not every time, sometimes it doesn’t shift at all after 55 miles/h, it’s annoying, I will fix it myself, thank you for the video!

Is this a similar process to the 7.3 4R transmission? My Trans temp sensor goes a little crazy sometimes and I get the flashing tow haul light. Was told it was the trans temp sensor or the wiring harness to. Thanks for all of your content, you've save me a ton of time and money so far.

@@thelandrshow no different than the 4r100. Flashing tow haul on a 4r100 is usually a torque converter problem.

Did you clear the codes and what is your trans temp running? If it is truly running hotter than normal the sensor is doing it’s job and there’s another problem.

I have P0713 in my 2004 Toyota Rav4 Automatic. I have replaced the transmission fluid temperature sensor inside the transmission and checked all wiring harness but still the code is still there. I have also used another ECU but the code persists. What else do you advise?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be erased but will remain a soft code in the pcm until erased. The CEL will go away once it’s repaired however

How do you reset the code if you don’t have a computer to do so??

A basic scanner might be able to. You could also disconnect your batteries for awhile or go by a local shop and explain that you’ve fixed the problem and ask them to clear your DTCs.

Hey bud I changed out the sensor and still have the tow haul flashing. Part was direct from ford so I don’t believe it’s a faulty part. Transmission temp reads -68 and stays there. You think it could be the harness ?

No it will run fine other than occasional hard shifts and flashing tow haul light
