Thank you so much for this video!! I couldn’t find anywhere to tell me how to keep pump going. You the man. This is old video but it helped my 2021 problems!

Never had to drain fuel on a 6.0, thanks for confirming my suspicions. I’ll see if I can use my IDS to keep the pump activated and will advise.

great video, especially the draining of the fuel tank trick, very slick

BTW: The drain method worked like a charm. Great idea.

CAUTION: I broke my sending unit pick-up screen (shower head looking thing) because while I was still using a 4 ft 2x8, it provided enough force in the middle to snap the pick-up screen. When you support the tank with the jack, be sure to support it with a sturdy board and attach 2x4's spaced at the points where the straps are located. This will support the tank at its natural points and spare you the $60 for the new pick-up screen.

What power source did you hook the sending unit to

Where is the other end of the jumper wire hooked to?

Video starts with the tank already on the ground. Would be better to start at the begining.

Anyone ever had an issue where the fuel expands on the hot days and comes out of the fill/breather being cut short?
@jaym21498 жыл бұрын
I seen other videos where they only cut one pipe you know the reason for that it makes more sense to me to cut both

this worked for me, thank you!

I have a 2005 6.0 f250 as well, have had fuel issues loosing power on acceleration, thinking I gotta drop the tank, the two small screens inside the sending unit probably need to be clean and after seeing the water in yours I'm sure after my round trip back home to Texas and back there's gotta be some water in the tank from somewhere.

bshadrock1 what did you do to fix the problem was it water I’m haveing the same issue

Same as Jesse I am having issues, they go away if I fill the tank to 1/2 or more will this solve it? Great video BTW if I have to do this I am sure it will help me!

If this is bad will it affect fuel going to the injectors?
@Brandon-mx9nv3 жыл бұрын
If you got dirty or bad gas it will definitely affect your injectors if anything gets past the filters. Since the fuel will make its way to the injectors. I just dropped and cleaned my tank because I’m having my injectors rebuilt and don’t want anything to contaminate the expensive investment.

@@Brandon-mx9nv I dropped the tank and cleaned everything out and replaced the screen. Had about 4-5 gallons of water or clear diesel and 5 gallons of regular diesel
@bshadrock18 жыл бұрын
why did you cut the pipes?
@hooptytank8 жыл бұрын
This truck is really heavy. I wanted to reduce the weight, and everything helps... Actually this is done so you can use the full capacity of the tank, and full tank fill without having the pump constantly clicking off. this is on a diesel truck, not to be done on a gasoline tank. Google harpoon tank
