6:1 Drop Loop Crevasse Rescue

In this video you will find the standard 6:1 drop loop crevasse rescue utilizing the ATC guide, Petzl Mini pulley, and 2 Prusik's to ascend the rope. Note, before the pulley is added to the mix, you should perform the rescue without the device. Also, the pulley does not have to be put down by the victim, it can be placed at the 'don't forget me knot' in the 3:1' where it will serve the same purpose.

Hi, what gloves are you using? Seems like some work gloves of some sort but curious to know your opinion on good ones to use.

Yeah these are actually super cheap gas station gloves. Here is now I manage gloves. I have 3 pairs usually. First pair are warm and expensive gloves that I do not belay with, second pair is less warm and slightly cheaper but would not mind replacing when they eventually go, the third pair are cheap gas station gloves that are used solely for rope work and are not warm at all. My good gloves are BD punishers and the okay gloves are some relatively cheap waterproof gloves here in Iceland (maybe $15 per pair).
