Been trying to diagnose a intermittent knocking on a 2012 6.2 F150 that sounds similar to that but there is no IMRC on 2012's. It runs like it has a miss, has a code for cylinder #2 misfire but the knocking seems to be coming from the left bank and only happens after driving for a while.....it goes away after shutting it off and restarting it. The owner replaced the spark plugs and intake manifold. I verified there are no broken valve springs.

@@donschaefer9442 both VVT solenoids follow commanded positons. Stethoscoped the solenoids and the noise is not coming from them. My truck does the same and I confirmed it's the electric part of the clutch on the cooling fan. I've heard it on many trucks since noticing it on mine, but that many are much quieter. I can't stand it. But I'm worried that replacing the fan won't help if it's so common.

That's not really going to cause any issues to hurt anything you might get a little stumble or hesitation from time to time and I don't have the part number right now I'll have to look it up tomorrow if you remind me but we've been having trouble getting these because everything's on backorder or people want a hundred and fifty to $200 more even though the dealers

How can I check to see if this is the issue if I don’t have the software you are using? My 2020 6.2 is doing the same thing?

I explained that in the video, on the passenger side of the intake manifold there's a solenoid there unplug the connector going to it up top it's the vacuum solenoid for the intake manifold Runner valves with the engine running you will hear the vehicle stop knocking or tapping if it's the intake manifold
