I have the 7.3. I dont tow much and this engine is plenty capable, $10K + less, no DEF, less fuel, oil, filter cost. And the 7.3 is actually quicker off the line until you reach 55 or so.

Check out Banks pedal and i Dash data monsters. I thought it was gimmicky at first, then trusted people verified it was true, and I have one. @@BrandonBigB956 There are options out there to raise the 7.3 HP to 500-1,300! The stock 7.3 doesn’t have any superchargers and weighs about 800 lbs less than the 6.7. Like I said earlier, I don’t tow, but with some Bank’s goodness, the 7.3 definitely comes alive. Each to their own, but my 7.3 cost me less than $200 over the last 2.5 years and performs phenomenally off-road… my intentions w the current build mod, and today, I drove around a shallow, rocky river with amazing ease. If I were to tow daily for long distances, yes, I’d get the 6.7 HO. Now, as my truck sits w the Carli E-venture suspension, it’ll dust a stock 6.7 or whatever across a farm field or the like! The Baja mod is legit as is the rock crawl mod I used today in the river!

I Just purchased the 2023 6.8L Gasser. First gas truck I have owned in over 6 years. So far I love everything about it. Smooth ride for a Super Duty truck. Don't need to tow super heavy loads and the Diesel in California is more expensive than regular gas. I cannot wait to take it for a long road trip. I have around 2300 miles on it right now.

So I've noticed that, for the most part, those who were a little older said the 7.3 while the younger crowd perferred the 6.7 "because of the power." If it were me, I would pick 7.3 also. I'm a suburban boy and if I can't tow it with an F-250 gas, I don't need it, or it's too expensive. On top of that, I'll never tap into the power available for that motor, and I don't want to deal with the maintenance associated with it.

I like the responses for the techs. I still love my 2001 7.3L F350 Lariat Crew Cab. ZERO DEF and I can fix about 90% of anything that goes wrong with it in my driveway. Also with a few mods, like a Hydra Chip, some gauges to monitor my EGT and TGT's I can tow just about anything. The ride was rough until I put some Sulatic Shackles on it, now it's a really smooth ride. If it did have the cash, I'd take the front end and interior off a new truck and put it on my 01, so I could have the reliability, ease and low cost maintenance and all the bells and whistles too. Thanks for the great video, loved it. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

I personally own a 7.3, my company has a mixture of 6.7s and 7.3s. I truely believe it application that should make your choice. Both are good motors, the 6.7s definitely cost more to buy and maintain but when constantly loaded they can’t be beat. The 7.3 tows great for a gasser though but we notice the torque difference in the mountains for sure. If the truck isn’t going to be used for towing all the ime there’s nothing wrong with the 7.3. I’ve had both 6.2 gas and 6.7 diesel for work trucks with a new gas 250 on the way with I assume the 6.8. I work in the oil industry for a chemical company so we haul not tow. Unless I’m hauling over mountains the gas trucks usually do fine. The diesels have great power and torque but the cost is definitely higher maintenance. If I were looking to buy one with my own money for myself I’m probably going with the 7.3 because I don’t need the torque for towing heavy loads, lower maintenance costs, and even the 6.2 I was driving yesterday can get 16 mpg

I have a mod’ed out ‘22 7.3 Tremor with a full catalog Carli E-Venture system and air bags, super Baja design lights, on-board air, bed topper, bed lighting, moriomoto lights… and a Banks pedal and data monster. The pedal monster set to sport mode at the highest level truly brings out the beast in the 7.3. I have to be careful taking off to not spin my 37” Nitto Ridge Grapplers! The Carli system allows custom tuning in the street mode, as well as Baja and Rock crawling modes. My truck goes from Corning well (for a HD truck) in the city to driving over 35 mph across uneven farm land. Refer to CJC’s video about the Carli system. It’s that awesome! I don’t tow, but haul recovery gear, range gear, camping gear etc., and the 7.3 has been an absolute pleasure so far. And it’s not supercharged yet! Honestly, I probably won’t bother. Oh, and while it’s not a Raptor R, I still have better towing and hauling capabilities over the Raptor and better fuel economy! I’ll take my build over a Raptor R any day… except high speed desert racing with no payload. In that case, I’d get the 6.7 and Carli’s dominator system!

For an F250, I’m going with the 7.3L because it’s got plenty of power to tow whatever a ¾ ton can tow, and it’s got higher payload capacity by a pretty fair margin than a diesel engine optioned pickup and I tend to haul stuff around in the box a lot more often than I tow a trailer, so payload is king for me. I’m surprised nobody said that they would order a diesel based on the fact that you can put many more miles on them versus a gas engine and if you wanted it to be, it could be the last truck you ever buy. Depending on many factors, and how it used however, that’s one of the biggest reasons I ordered mine with a diesel engine. I only occasionally pull heavyweight, but with the cost of trucks, and the way things are going politically with the push for going to electric vehicles, I’m picking the diesel.

Gas version is what I'd pick. Even if you're towing. If you don't have a CDL or some states a Class B license. You can't go over your GCWR 26,001lb and if you do. That's a DOTs wet dream. Ease of maintenance, Reliable, Cost, no DEF, dont have to worry about Regens or going into limp mode. More pros to a gas over the diesel. Maybe if you asked me 20 years ago, it would be a different story but ever since the EPA cracked down on diesels. Its not anymore reliable then a gas now. Even if you wanted to put a supercharger on the 7.3L for example would prolly still be cheaper then getting the normal diesel compared to the Hight Output diesel.

@@Soviet_Koalathere isn’t a lot yet because the 6.8 was new last year. It wasn’t standard like it is now coming into the new trucks. You will see a lot more. As far as issues from what I’ve seen it’s basically the same as the 7.3. Even the very oil and filters and capacities are the same. It’s just bored differently. The oil pressure issue on the older Godzilla’s seems to be resolved on this 6.8. I haven’t seen any of them breaking down yet on KZbin:

Id pull all that new junk out and swap in a freshly built 7.3 powerstroke. Best diesel motor ever besides the 12v cummins

Should end the video with a graphic summary of the results, and then the narrators conclusion from that summary.

The 6.7s don’t blow apart at 80-100k miles the 7.3s need new cam and lifters then.

I’ve got the 2024 F350 King Ranch 6.7 turbo diesel and I am tickled to death with it. Everybody knows diesel engines last far longer than gas. PERIOD.😂

Funny, I wouldn’t trust anything a dealer or their mechanics say. In regard to brand loyalty, they all fail and you’re a fool to bring your vehicle to a dealer.

I'm definitely going with the 6.7 but it would not be in an F250. I see no reason to buy an F250 when the F350 is more capable and hardly any more money.

Sounds like the people that do not want the 6.7 diesel don't need that torque, or maintenance is to high or upfront $12,000 for that engine is absurd

I think common sense wise, 99% of the people need 7.3L. Lots of reasons already stated why it’s better. I want a diesel, but there are so many cons to buying one.
