Does that thing have like 400K on it or something? The 6.2L in the 2011 - 2016 Super Duty's made 385hp at the crank, even given the larger wheels and tires and the heavy duty drive train, that's like a 120hp loss from the crank to the rear wheels. That's insane.

Depending on the gross vehicle weight rating Ford has 2 hp ratings. Under 10000lbs 385hp over 10000lbs they are rated at 305hp. Torque stays about the same but they seriously detuned the 6.2 for the f250 and 350

@@runeshark22, Thanks for the reply. Overall are the headers worth the expense over stock manifolds?
@runeshark224 жыл бұрын
@@rdp2370 on these trucks? hell nah. They're fairly expensive, and seem to be a major pain in the ass to install (its not like slappin some long tubes on a 390 galaxie), with minimal power gains. I'm going to approximate that in this test hear, 75% of the gains were due to the tune, without a tuner, you'd be looking at 5-10 horse at the wheel. They sound great, and you'll get better throttle response, but overall not much more power. If you do the CAI, TB, headers, full exhaust, and a tune, you're looking at solid gains, but to just do headers? not really. But the tuning is the essential keystone here, without it, all those mods are for nothing. I also recommend bumping it to 89.

@runeshark224 жыл бұрын
but you'll never get that flat or a curve out of a diesel. If you're going for BIG power then yes, diesel is the way to go. But if you're not running a pulling truck, or a drag truck or nothin, then this 6.2 is a great engine. i got mine built for a trail truck/overlander of sorts, but still keeping its trailering abilities. It'll pull 10k pretty easy, and has a good amount of giddyup from the line. Gearing is the key with this, 4.30s are invaluable for any heavy use, it won't make up the gap completely from the diesel, but its no slouch
