Yet another cool video, have never seen inside one either, was actually pretty neat, destroyed as they were👍👍

@@Dave.76 yeah my first time tearing one down. Never thought about it. I knew what they looked like inside. It's cool how to see how they change over the years.

Appreciate the teardown videos. It's been a long time since I tore an a/c compressor apart for scrap as I rarely come across them. Those little compressors sure take a beating. It's no wonder they self destruct. I imagine that the lawyers who chase after the ambulances must go through a/c compressors too! 🤣🤣

@mlieser1230 they do take a beating. All day everyday. I've never torn one down. Was fun to do.

2014 looked like what I remember as “Black Death” failure. Both are axial compressors. The 2018 looked like it had a nice reed valve setup too. On the older R-12 systems that gunk was sometimes caused by moisture ingress and failed desiccant in the drier.

Just replace with a new DENSO unit. Better than Motorcraft and will last longer. 😮
@BeardedFordTech11 күн бұрын
@@chiefordnance can't do that when they are service part warranty. They have a Two year warranty on them. And the last denso i put on lasted like 2 months

Is the lubricating oil in the refrigerant?
@BeardedFordTech12 күн бұрын
@richwitt3559 no. I injected it with a oil injector. My machine doesn't have the oil injection function

@@BeardedFordTech 132k. Ive already replaced a Tranny that Detonated at 80K, even with the Recommended flushes by the dealer. Ford Said too bad, out of warrenty. Replaced the EGR that the Cooler took out. Cooler replaced under recall, EGR I paid for. I paid for a new Injector harness that was misrouted and burned through, Ford Denied responsibility. And I replaced the Turbo that was spewing oil ... all on my dime. But Im retired and cannot afford the new ones. So I just keep repairing. Fleet Services here in Everett Washington does my work. They seem Honest but Im never sure. I think I got a Friday afternoon before 2 week vacation truck.

@brianskinner4328 yep. I saw a lot of death in it. It's still sitting on that table too. Need to throw it in scrap bin. But it's Christmas it can wait til Thursday
@CedroCron11 күн бұрын
They are marvels of engineering. So complex. What I don't get is why some of them last forever and a day and others barely make it past the warranty. Is it just Friday's that make the difference? Example. Our 2012 Caravan with 300K on it. Original compressor. The 2018 in my Inlaws van has already cooked its compressor. Same model, no updates or changes. The 2012 was worked hard too whereas the 2018 is use normally.
@BeardedFordTech11 күн бұрын
@CedroCron thats a good question. These things run 24/7/365. Some of my fleet still had original compressor with well over 300k miles. Others I've had to replace like every 6-8 months. And it's a two year warranty. The 2018 in this video was replaced Tuesday. Thursday. No ac. Get under truck. The seal is leaking. Service part warranty. It didn't even make it to day 3. Sad.

Dare you to throw the carnage in a tape up box for core credit 😂 fYI use that impact not screw gun.
@BeardedFordTech10 күн бұрын
@Dirtyharry70585 there is no core lol. I don't want to be that guy though. That is an impact screw gun. Not a normal screw gun. It only has one setting. Not for installing or removing normal screws.

Stupid question but there isn't a core for those pumps that they rebuild them?
@BeardedFordTech11 күн бұрын
@Uncle_Fester24 nope. No core on these compressors. It's weird. A new compressor from ford doesn't have a core. A reman does. At least here anyway.
