6.7 super duty water pump replacement

Searched up a how to video a few days ago. After being quoted 7500 for a water pump and intercooler replacement. Saw your video and got to it myself. I appreciate you making this video big time! Replaced the water pump myself for less than $200 . My truck runs good as new. I even added the high temp silicone and not a single drop! Thank you so much !

Any advice for removing the clip on the hose at the base of the water pump. The small connector on the pump came off easily. I know it's there. I just can't see it from under the truck.

If it leaks after installed you did something wrong. Never put silicone on a gasket. Also that secondary system is egr and transmission. Primary cools the turbo.

So I am going to be installing My pump tomorrow once I figure how to get around the harness and I'm wondering if you used the hi temp silicone or not

I did, only a thin coat of high temperature

It works better taking the front end off so you can still move by the time your done. This job is a back wrecker, or if you have any jacked up ribs it would be about impossible laying over the front end.

How did you get the wire harness out of the way that runs under water pump. Can’t even get to the water pump bolts with it in place.

Your right about those 2 freakin bolts there, I finally gave up trying to acess them, I disconnected and removed the ALT and then removed the 4 13mm bolts that retain the the ALT and P/S pump mount bracket to the engine. Life gets better once those are swung down and out of the way.

Never put silicone on those o ring gaskets. Just clean the mating surface and your good to go.

Gaskets are made to seal, not to be sealed.

I tend to agree, I;ve also seen many leak when installed. More so aftermarket gaskets, they tend to not be designed as well as the OEM

Its been a few years since I did this. Seems like the pump was less than 200.00, high temp silicone less than 10.00 and coolant. So less than 250

We call silicon blue Jesus!!cause when you don’t use it and it leaks usually it’s Jesus!!! why didn’t I use silicone or your praying that it dosnt leak when used lol
