@@AutomedicGarage you ever seen a coolant leak in cold temps only when block heater is plugged in?
@AutomedicGarage5 ай бұрын
@@Powerstroke431 no but it probably has nothing to do with the block heater other than it’s at the right temp to leak. It like having a leak only when cold.

@AutomedicGarage My truck has never leaked coolant till just recently and if I don't use the block heater there's no leaks, but an hour or so after plugging it in there's dripping from underneath the water pump area. I'm in Canada so -30c daytime temps cause seals to shrink I get that just weird it never leaks unless using the block heater.

@@Powerstroke431 verify that it isn’t originating from the valley anywhere. Recently had one come in that I could have swore was gonna be a water pump leak, turned out the donut gasket on intake was degraded and brittle. It only leaked for a few minutes after warm up. No leak hot, no leak cold. Not saying that’s what you have just saying sometimes coolant leaks can be a fuss to find.

How do you get coolant out of the heater core? I’m gonna switch to elc
@AutomedicGarage17 күн бұрын
You can A) flush the system with heater control valve in open position or B) disconnect both heater lines and blow out with compressed air

12:02 Harbor Freight. Those ones you’re using are probably really thin. You can get thicker gloves.

Thank you for these videos! I got 2003 6.0, all stock, but I think I'm overdue and changing the EGR and oil cooler. Only have 119k on it, still runs but sooo sluggish when cold .
