I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse....but I have AB negative type of blood, the rarest of the major blood types, the 1%. So I kinda feel like I need to donate regulary....though to be honest I only started after I was around 25+....I'm 42 now. The way I heard it, 1 single 'whole blood' donation is turned into 3 'products' which means it can go to 3 seperate people in need.

I donated plasma for the first time and when I left the facility I had an erection that lasted for two days until I went in for my next donation. When I arrived and laid down for my second donation I explained to the nurse that I had a chubby ever since I had left after the first donation. She immediately turned around and walked away. Another male nurse came and escorted me out of the facility and called me a pervert. He said I was banned from ever donating plasma there again. I will never donate plasma again after this humiliating experience!
