Hi Nathan, if money is an issue then I would definitely recommend spending it on proper food over supplementation. Food/Fitness/Rest will always take precedent over all else but if you feel you've hit a major plateau then that's usually when we'd recommend trying some of these supplements to see how your body reacts to them. I know a few friends who saw absolutely no difference while taking creatine so it depends on the person.

They don't mean literally empty bro. Use your head, so let's say you want to work out in the evening. When you have lunch at noon or 1 or whatever, by the time you get to your workout, it will have been a few hours since you have eaten and that can be considered an empty stomach. Also drink at least a gallon of water each day and the consumption of water will actually make you a little less hungry when it is unnecessary.

For those of you that were asking about why they didn't recommend Whey protein. Most bodybuilders don't consider Whey protein a supplement, but a quick replacement or filler for meeting your protein macros, but technically you really don't need to use protein if you can actually eat enough protein through other sources. But in this video I figure they're assuming that most of us aspiring Buff Dudes are already using protein supplements, hence why he says take creatine after your workout with a protein shake. And also creatine is fine if you take 3-5g a day, any time of the day, every day. No cycling is needed, and even if you did cycle it, your body takes a long time to use creatine, so your muscles will still be saturated for 1-2 weeks after you stop taking it, sometimes even longer.

Depeds on the supplement. On multi-vitamin, fish oils, CLA, ZMA and creatine monohydrate it doesn't really matter when you take them (not that you'd even need all of those). Protein you use when needed as a food. Pre-workouts are obviously taken before a workout. BCAA's work best while training or first thing in the morning if you are cutting and do fasted cardio for example.

There's no point in cycling creatine. At least, I can't think of any. If you're worried about overdosing, just stick to 5g a day, instead of 10g. These measurements are also based off your bodyweight and height. Also, I don't think there's any science behind taking glutamine separately as a supplement. If there is, please enlighten me. Also, multi vits are the biggest rip offs. If you're serious about fitness, you're already taking in your macros and micros. Multi vits = expensive pee. You'd be better off with a greens drink. If I had to rank the top/only supplements that will work in bring you results, it would be: 1) Whey 2) Creatine 3) Beta Alanine Everything else is a waste / not cost efficient.

Dildo Baggina i see your point, but we're talking about supplements here meaning you're already doing the work and you're body already has most of what it needs ( as long as you're eating clean). So technically you can say every supplement is expensive urine or something to that effect. Bottom line do the work and be patient wanna try supplements fine, but the edge any will give you is limited.

Milk, Boiled Eggs and Cottage Cheese take care of all mentioned aside from Creatine. You also need to drink a metabolic stimulus like green tea with lemon or ginger tea. This will give you a greater chance of nutrient absorbsion. I recommend 2-3 cups a day with main meals.

Body processes 4-5g a day normally but workout depletes bodys own creatine sources. To compensate 5g a day is recommended. Also cycling is what a lot of people do with creatine "month on, month off".

You dont really need all those supplements unless you are trying to go professional. For a normal guy all you need is Whey protein, Multivitamins (before sleep) and some pre workout (only on selected heavy weight training days). Your body will definitely look good and buff after taking all those supplements but they have some side effects as well which you will notice when you stop working out or in your late 40's. In the end it all comes down to what kind of goals do you have. Want to look like buff dudes? yea you need them supplements. Just want to look like a guy who goes to the gym? whey / multivitamins / good diet are enough :)
@shakakhan9359

I agree; good intake on protein every 3-4 hours a day is sufficient for muscle growth (2g+/kg/day). In addition keep the rest of your diet healthy to stay lean i.e. drink lots of water, eat veggies and fruit and avoid unnecessary, fast acting carbs e.g. in white bread and sugars. That´s enough to become a buff dude; the rest of the suppliments mentioned on the vid are if you want to become a pro...

Most commenters on here completely ignored the opening part of the video where a supplement was defined. Honestly the only people that really should be taking supplements are athletes or people that workout incredibly hard. Even then it is questionable. The most important thing is eating a healthy diet and working out. Do that for 6 months before even thinking about taking ANY supplements, including protein. You'll save money and figure out that you can get in hella good shape without one single "magic" pill.

supplements are seen as a waste of money for some because its a SUPPLEMENT, it helps with your diet so if you're getting your essentials through regular food you're all set

If you'll do that, I'd heavily focus on lots of food. Like 5 servings of vegs and 3000 cal at least a day. That's what I'm doing

Supplements are practically for people trying to cut after a big gain or people losing weight. Supplements are not needed if you have a nice physique and are trying to stay the same and/or get bigger. Nutrition is key. Protein to up your protein intake daily, a multivitamin and creatine are all you really WANT.

All you need is whey protein shack after workout, maybe alittle preworkout drink if feeling weak, and eat good. Everything else is a joke, everyone has different body frames, getting big takes time

CoolCatInATopHat That's right. ATP is how our body stores energy, if it needs energy it will dissolve the molecule and turn it into ADP and so on.

Yeah I have tried out DAA and it worked for me. Be sure to cycle it, can mess up your homeostasis if done for too long without a break. Also I stacked it with a cort/est blocker that really helps the DAA results show as it gives your test a higher edge. Good luck with it

I'm on board with just Creatine if you lift extremely intense. If you don't, your body has enough time to just create it by itself. I'm also on board with adding protein if you can't afford to eat chicken every day or find it hard. I however don't really want to add trans fats to my diet (CLA). Nor do I think that ZMA is needed or multivitamins. Eat regular healthy food and you're fine. If you really wanna bulk up, eat clen, test your limits, and anavar give up. :)

So this what you guys use all the time? Also, I work out an hour after eating breakfast, by empty stomach you mean with no food or literally on an empty stomach? As for now I'm only using whey protein 2 times a day plus vitamin and cla. I've been looking into creatine and BCAA but there's an overwhelming amount of directions. Breakfast/vitamin/cla -1hour- creatine BWO - BCAA drink before mid and finishing it towards the end of the workout? You guys do a lot of helpful vids, you've gain my trust! Any help would be appreciated! (Bit of a noob here)
