Make sure you check out the price of a health policy in thailand. It would be sky high for someone over sixty years old. Also if you a health condition they will not cover it.

@Mike Baker. Finding accommodation for 6 months is tougher but possible but requires a bit of digging. A good place to look would be Facebook Groups, long-term Airbnb, Perfect Homes(Housing agencies) and other online sources. Rental websites in Thailand like Hipflat and DDProperty would be a good start, they are the more popular ones among many more sites. The Facebooks groups, Airbnb and housing agencies are more expensive though. It's best to probably go by scooter or even a bicycle to look for rent signs with phone numbers, skipping some of those services and hopefully contacting a landlord directly. They will give you a lower price and a discount as well, especially if you're planning on staying longer term, anything in Thailand is relentlessly negotiable. What a lot of people do is, when they first arrive, is that they book a room for a few nights at an Airbnb or hotel and start their own footwork to find another place to stay long term. Studio apartments are known to accept short term stays, one month or less, but one bedroom, three bedrooms, usually want you to stay longer term, with a deposit. Serviced apartments, maid service etc have special deals as well. Also, just because the accommodation is cheaper doesn't mean it's going to be convenient, the amount you'll need to spend on transportation to get to your amenities may add up in being the same cost in total, as living in a central area where the accommodation is more expensive but the amenities are closer, it depends on what you like to do of course. Anyways, good luck!

I'm hoping to find a small house one bedroom with appliances and furniture to rent for $250 up to $300 a month would you be able to help me are you in the Krabi district now

@Thomas. I actually have a vlog I made a while back when we were in Malaysia on this very topic. We are targeting the MM2H program for the over 50 requirements in Malaysia, meanwhile we will hop from one country to the next, just to see other countries that were on our list.
