6-Blade Fan Upgrade on My Early Porsche 944 | Rewiring Porsche 944 Radiator Fans

In this video, I will rewire and upgrade my radiator fans to the late model 6-blade fans. This process is extremely tedious as a new harness needs to be created, and the 6-blade fans need to be clearanced to avoid contacting the lower radiator hose.

I may actually do something similar to what you've done with your wire harness. I've got an 84 944 and I too upgraded my fans to the six blades. My fans have no issue coming on when they should but they never turn off during my driving even when the temperature drops below the thermofan switch lower temperature rating. I could go for an hour drive and the fans will never turn off once they've been turned on via the fan switch. Everything has been replaced as part of my restoration so I'm at the point where I'd rather be in control of when the fans turn on and off then letting them run constantly lol.

Exactly, wiring can get pretty annoying pretty fast, so deciding to make a new sub harness was one of the best decisions for me.... especially since a previous owner completely destroyed the previous harness...🫤

I recommend doing what I did in this video, but if you want to make something custom, I have heard of people swapping in the fans from older volvo wagons.
