Great approach. I like how you didn’t just chop off all the fins on the one side, but rather made a slot for the mating part. Looks much, much neater.

You make these parts appear to be so easy to make. I am considering giving this build a go. I am not a trained machinist, I make things just for fun, and if I am careful I am usually successful at what I'm trying to achieve. If I can get a set of these plans I just might give this project a try. I have plenty of raw materials to work with. I guess time will tell.

@@taranson3057 I’m sorry I guess I forgot to tell you , at the beginning of video #1 I showed the book. I also think that it is only place that you can get the plans. I’m glad you have them now. Keep making things for fun, I do the same. Joe

@@JoesModelEngines no need to apologize, at my age I tend to forget things. I get so caught up in watching a video of an engine build that I go looking through my scrap bins to see if I have the materials to build the same engine. In this case, I do have the materials. Then I had to figure out where I heard the name Philip Duclose and after a while, it dawned on me that I have one of his books. After a bit of research, I learned that the plans were made available in a few editions of the Home Machinist magazine that were issued back in the 1990s. Digital Home Machinist magazine only goes back to I think 2004 or 2006. They may have hard copies of the magazines from the 1990s but I never contacted customer service to find out. Some back issues of the magazine are available whether they have the issues that cover this engine I don't know. The back issues are kind of spendy at $10 plus each. There is a digital copy of “the shop wisdom of philip duclos” on Scribd.com. Thats all the info I have for now. Time to get back to reading about this build.
