Great job. Do you have a way to attach a HT lead to a 1/4 32 spark plug. That looks nice. The simple jobs always seem to be the hardest for me.

You can make a little clip out of thin brass . Also the boots are for sale on eBay. Joe

Thank for the reply. I will look on ebay.

Would like to see the seam at an angle rather than square like you made them...if possible (/)...nice job...

I’m not sure what you mean, what part needs to be at an angle? Joe

I am afraid that some bronzes cannot be soldered with soft solder
@JoesModelEngines4 ай бұрын
That’s interesting, I know that you can’t solder bronze with oil impregnating, but the regular bearing bronze have used has never been any problem. Joe
@jacobguthrie69735 ай бұрын
Why do you say you should use bronze? I'll be trying to make some soon.
@JoesModelEngines5 ай бұрын
I say bronze because it’s easy to work with, soldiers easily and is the longer wearing of most materials. You can use a lot of other different materials. A lot depends on what you are building. Split bearings are mostly used for connecting rods and main bearings in gas engines.
@jacobguthrie69735 ай бұрын
@JoesModelEngines it'll be in a custom made v8 but yeah it'll be gas.

Couldn’t you do all the lathe work first, but twice as long then when done mill it into the 2 half’s?
@redmorphius5 ай бұрын
My bad. I see why you did what you did now
@JoesModelEngines5 ай бұрын
I was going to answer your question but I couldn’t figure out how to make it twice as long. At least you are thinking 🤔 not many people have that ability any more. Thank you for your input and your interest. Joe
