Bro, dont give up your 777 job. What you need is a gig teaching others how to fly. That is going to keep you humble and skillful. You dont have to do it every day you are off. Fly with guys who need some help in some skills or move airplanes for an aircraft sales business, teach at a part 61 school etc....

Thursday has become my favorite day of the week for new Darren videos. Nobody quite like it - they’re fantastic. I really love how you work the pay plan / schedule. I’ve done that at every job I’ve had when given the opportunity. Edit; you said the second trip was the same flight number and sequence but was a 223ER on the outbound. Was that an equipment swap?

How is the PMDG 777 compared to real life flying? Excluding the inertia in real life

It doesn't make sense to be cleared to land 15 miles out, with three aircraft ahead of you. Zero protections other than yourselves.
@geekontheflightdeckАй бұрын
There are protections via automation in the tower and via human beings
@DanielHughesukАй бұрын
If so, why bother giving you a "clearance" 15 miles out? Those words are in effect meaningless as the runway is not clear. In the US, protections are far fewer as ATC are desperate for you to call Visual/clear you to land and to clear their hands of you.
@geekontheflightdeckАй бұрын
Do you know the exact technology used in the United States at Class B airports? How can you unequivocally state there are far fewer protections ? Based on hard facts or opinion?
@geekontheflightdeckАй бұрын
Additionally I don’t feel pressured for a visual ever. If I can clearly see the airport and will accept responsibility I call it. If not. Nope.
@DanielHughesukАй бұрын
@@geekontheflightdeck Regularly operating a widebody into the USA. Chicago is the worst. Asking for visual 50 miles out, and if we weren't they would put us in a hold. "cleared to land with 4 aircraft ahead" total waste of time even making that RT call, if the RW isn't at the time confirmed to be clear.
