Good video and I'm excited to see more. Lisa, in your future plant endeavors you can actually trim the roots before planting into the substrate. This provides the duel benefit of making the planting way easier while also encouraging faster new growth of roots. Learned that tip from George Farmer.

At this point in the hobby, with all the knowledge at our disposal in this modern era of fishkeeping, with a few fish related exceptions, there is no excuse of not having planted tanks. It just more respectful towards our fish.

100% agree but these guys also run an online store, are creating videos every other day on top of that kids and other pets. So it makes sense why they haven't done much planted.
@metaldesire42 жыл бұрын
@@Sreyam86 Funny you say that, since balanced planted tanks are much easier to maintain - once they're cycled and stocked, you barely have to do any water changes, and the fish poop is used by the plants.
@EpicConspiracy2 жыл бұрын
Yeah for tanks 40 breeder and below. When you get to 75 gallons plus planted tanks are crazy expensive and tricky.
@metallixro2 жыл бұрын
@@EpicConspiracy The bigger the tank the easier it gets to have a successful planted one. Yeah obviously it can get crazy expensive but your fish deserve the best living conditions they can get and for most of the fish in the hobby a planted tank is where its at :) A planted tank doesnt have to be a high end aquascape, fill it with plants like moss, ferns and water wisteria and your fish will love it.

Thanks so much for some new and DIFFERENT CONTENT !!! NOT gonna lie the channel was getting stale talking about the same stuff over and over again. I feel plants are a very big deal in that they add so much to a tank and there's so much we need to know. My lfs sells Co2 for growing plants faster ,but I have no clue how that works. Also people don't realize you actually can have plants with Oscar's!!!. I have tiger lotus in my tank and my oscar has never touched it. The key is to get a sturdy plant with a bulb .That way ,your oscar can pull up on it and still not tear it .

I like your tip of adding water to the tank with paper towels. That is often a real mess. I have also broken the pour with plastic bowls. A new trick I am trying is to soak my substrate ( Basicly oil dry) in Easy Green saturated water. So far, so good. I do love your scape! Inspirational!. I think you may put ( Hmmm something that does not jump) some sort of Rasbora. I am afraid Rummy Nose might jump? Golden White Clouds or Rice Fish would be awesome and NO HEATER!

Although I have to admit as a planted aquarium lady I was cringing watching her put those plants into dry substrate but its looks like they are doing okay. Wet wet wet when using real plants what I absolutely love the red variety of rotella rotundfolia! It’s nice and red without C02! Lugwigia is also easy to grow and also comes in red! Anubias are my favorite plant especially the nana! I have aquariums not just fish but for plants. I am more into plants than the fish! Her bettas are going to love having soft real plants. My betta who was in a 4.5 gallon bowl passed away at 4 years old he had super long fins so the bowl I bought at a restaurant supply so it had a huge open top and I am thinking of ordering a new guy from you guys. I recommend you guys all the time on fb because chain pet store bettas are so overly bred they’re not very healthy. Anyway I am happy to see the live plants and excited for her to be successful with them. She has lots of friends which is good that also do live to ask questions. Good luck! Back this week and she has my style too so many plants!! Love it!

Lisa & John LOVE THE VIDEO AND THE TANK!!! I'm so amazed at the final outcome of your Scape Lisa!!! Totally inspirational!!! The selection of different plants just adds to the dynamics of your Creation!!! Now, tell us, how long did it actually take you to choose what you were going use for this Creation? Not the time it took to work on it, but your thinking skills on deciding on what, where and how you were going to create it? As we all know you are very methodical and enjoy the thinking process, and it really does PAY OFF with this Scape!!! It wouldn't surprise me if you chose to add a couple of Electric Long Fin Blue Rams in this Creation of yours!!! Along with a few Green Tetras!!! And some Amano or Bamboo Shrimp an off course an Ivory Mystery Snail!!! XOXOXOXOXOX!!!!
