Rebound relationships, which occur when someone enters a New Romantic relationship shortly after a breakup, always turn toxic due to several factors:
00:00 INTRODUCTION
1:17 1. Speeding Up The Relationship
In a rebound relationship, the partners getting into the relationship before they are getting to know each other.
2:50 2. Emotional Vulnerability
Individuals who jump into rebound relationships still processing emotions from their previous relationship.
They are seeking distraction or validation to cope with feelings of loneliness, rejection, or low self-esteem.
This emotional vulnerability lead them to overlook red flags or settle for partners who aren't compatible in the long term.
4:35 3. Unresolved Issues
Without sufficient time for self-reflection and healing, people in rebound relationships carries unresolved emotional baggage from their previous relationship into the new one.
These unresolved issues manifests as communication problems, trust issues, or unresolved conflicts, creating a breeding ground for toxicity.
7:31 4. Comparisons and Expectations
Individuals in rebound relationships unconsciously compare their new partner to their ex or have unrealistic expectations for the new relationship to fill the void left by the previous one.
This creates pressure on the new partner and lead to feelings of inadequacy, resentment, or frustration, ultimately contributing to toxicity in the relationship.
9:33 5. Lack of Boundaries
Rebound relationships often progress quickly, with partners rushing into intimacy or commitment without establishing healthy boundaries or getting to know each other deeply.
This lack of boundaries results in codependent behavior, emotional dependency, or a sense of suffocation, leading to toxicity in the relationship.
11:34 6. Escapism and Avoidance
Some individuals use rebound relationships as a way to avoid facing their emotions or dealing with the pain of their previous breakup.
However, unresolved issues and emotions have a way of resurfacing over time, potentially fueling conflict, manipulation, or passive-aggressive behavior in the new relationship.
14:54 Conclusion
To avoid the toxicity often associated with rebound relationships, it's essential for individuals to prioritize self-care, healing, and introspection after a breakup.
Taking time to process emotions, reflect on past relationships, and establish personal boundaries can set the foundation for healthier future connections.
Additionally, seeking professional support which can provide valuable perspective and guidance during this transitional period.

Just sit back guys, relax, we're all in a similar position. It might not happen next month or even this year... But one day the rebound will backfire and we'll all be there laughing at the karma of betrayal

I moved on immediately, but it has taken me nine months to heal. I am focusing on myself now, and don't even have the time or interest in dating or getting into a new relationship. I have no idea what my ex is doing, and I don't care.

The point you made about rebounders NEEDING the relationship and not WANTING it made sooooo much sense...this is a very nuanced point that not many people speak about in their videos..thank you for taking the time to make videos that are not just fishing for views but are actually very informative :)

My ex monkey branched into a new relationship and they got engaged before we were even divorced.. a friend told me once: Look at it this way- he is still married and is already asking someone else to marry him - that’s messed up” This really opened my eyes and actually helped my healing process …. All I can say is this - step back and focus on yourself and find the strength to live alone for a bit - it makes all the difference in the world… like Paz said: Pray for them but move on

My ex and I dated for 4 years. Developed a strong bond, went through a lot of stressful life events together. So it was a tested relationship. We both still loved each other but she thinks things will be better if she jumps ship. She started dating a guy the same week we broke up who was a family friend. 4 months later they are engaged and 3 months after that will be married. So in 7 months they got engaged and will be married. While I'm 5 months out and can't even go on a date! She had called me on the phone a couple times during her dating this guy. And even a month ago called me and cried and told me she missed me. A month later she was engaged. I can't even wrap my brain around how fast this happened while I'm still trying to heal and still love her. I was going to marry her. Had an engagement ring for her but she left before I could give it to her. She found out I had it but didn't come back. Instead stayed with this guy. And this guy has had a rocky history his whole life. She settled on the first guy who would give her a ring. And this guy is just a dumb to date a girl who literally just got out of a 4 yr relationship the same week!

Sounds very painful. I hope you can slowly process it. But exactly why did she breakup? She seems emotionally weak if she starts dating and even engaging another man, right after the breakup. She doesn't want to feel the grieve or maybe she lost feelings long before and was probably planing it(breakup) months before. My fiancé left me after 7 years, started dating again after 3 weeks. Had to tell me this, to make it "easier" for me to let her go, her words. Told me she has no time to grieve and wants to be happy and feeled loved again and if she sees a future with this guy, marry and have children(always her dream). After reflecting on my relationship, i have to be honest and say it was probably over a long time ago, before the actual breakup. Still i went to hell. Breakup became very nasty. A lot of guilt tripping and blaming... Nonetheless, stay strong bro💪

@@Champman543 similar to me man. Said she wanted to start over, fall in love and start her own family. I had 2 kids already. She wanted a fresh start. But we had a lot of stress from my ex wife and kids but nothing that couldn't be worked out. She just gave up. We were tested. Went through a lot. She gave up. I didn't. I was willing to do therapy or anything. She wasn't. So I'm starting over at 48. Sucks. Hard to deal with knowing I'll never see her again, talk to her, hug her, kiss her... Ever again while on this earth. That she was able to just leave me and jump to the first guy and marry him. She settled. Plain and simple. They are still in the honeymoon phase. Making decisions without being actually tested. Huge gamble because this guy has never had healthy relationship. So they are rolling the dice.

I can’t tell if she’s in a rebound. The guy works with her. She was still texting me over the last few months. Even when I found out she’s text me and sent me a pic of herself showing me an injury to her stomach I’ve just ignored it - not sure if it’s a rebound because we broke up a year ago but she just didn’t stop texting me
