Oh really? The impression I got was the flat earth was accelerating perpendicular to its own plane, otherwise it could not force you down on to the flat plane. If it was moving at a constant velocity perpendicular to itself, then we would become inertially locked and would not experience that downward falling feeling. Richard Stoltzfoos There is no scientific basis for his arguments. He chooses not to trust what NASA and physicists claim, something which I can accept. What I cannot accept is how he created his world view based firstly on what he percieves through his senses, then he adds to it an elaborate theory to fill in the missing gaps. I think many flat-earthers (at least my dad) long for something divine. A flat earth = scientific worldview debunked = god? = life makes more sense. This gives them a confirmation bias.

They can't even explain (yet alone demonstrate) how global positioning system works in their phones. The best they can come up with is triangulation by using ground stations, but triangulation requires directional information, and GPS receivers are not able to do that. If they could explain GPS then the next step would be that they explain how radio amateur repeaters onboard satellites work (Optimal setting requires a directional antenna pointing at the specific location at the right time. Transmitting on UHF band, receiving on VHF band, so they have to explain how the frequency changes if there's no repeater. This is something pretty much every radio amateur can test, so it can't be a "government conspiracy").

If the Earth were flat then most of the gravity due to mass would be in the center and you wouldn't have a ice wall but more likely a desert towards the edge( the reason we have tides is because of gravity). Also, without a molten liquid core we wouldn't have a dynamo and no electromagnetic field and that would mean no atmosphere. We would be a flat asteroid in space. Lastly, because of gravity the larger the object in space is the more likely it would be roundish because gravity is pulling everything towards the center.

Interestingly, homeopathy started as an attempt to make medicine more scientific. Before homeopathy, medicine was horrendously unscientific and homeopathy, not medicine, was the practice of the people behind miasma theory (the idea that infections can be transmitted, they got the mechanism horrendously wrong but they recognised that it wasn't due to the humours which was arguably a bigger advance than germ theory) and later germ theories. This doesn't stop homeopathy being a load of rubbish but it's interesting to see how application of the scientific method to medicine could take such a massive wrong turn initially...

You are right on this. The time when homeopathy was created it was a better alternative then the old treatments like bloodletting and leeches. But now adays it has become a backwater medical practice that shouldn't replace modern medicine. But not to say that one cannot learn from the other. The personal approach that homeopathy gives should be introduced more in modern medicine.
