I have 2c-2a hair that also has a damaged wave and curl pattern, so i do not usually need natural hair tips (sometimes i do) however i am becoming a hairdresser and want to be educated in all hair types because this field of work really lacks in adequate type 4 hair care (especially 4c hair) , black hair in general in all honesty. so i am very grateful for your channel and work! I will definitely be studying your channel for the best hair tips ❤️

Thanks for the suggestions! I really need to look into getting a shower filter. I love the Pattern detangling brush (although I hated it the first time I used it, lol). It goes through my hair like a hot knife through butter and the bristles feel so good on my scalp. I wish Pattern would make a scalp scrubber.

Thanks for the tips. I live in the desert and the water is hard, my hair feels like straw most of the time. I have used the Malibu treatment, and had the shower filter i did see a difference. My hair was more defined. It's time to buy more Malibu product along with a good moisturizing conditioner.

I think dry air + chelating (btw I didn’t know what that was) but I might need to incorporate that and/or get a water filter. I’ve been thinking about the water filter for a while but I get scared when it comes to installation. Nobody wants a leaky shower head! Great video LaToya, glad to see you posting again❤

From what another creator on here, AfrikanHairgod, has explained, most shampoos do contain citric acid, edta...etc as part of the formula. But not in high enough amounts to make the shampoo itself a chelating shampoo. Ideally, the chelating ingredients should be higher up on the list. Of course, I've never used this particular shampoo and maybe it's formulated to be chelating. If it works great for you, then great. But if hard water is a concern for you, then you might want to look into chelating shampoos and see how it works for you.

@@ayo_hitman_bang_introduces Thanks for the info. For a while I was using Paul Mitchell’s #3 Clarifying shampoo (which I loved) but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. KCCC has been working well for me but if you have another suggestion, I’m all ears. Thanks again. 😊👍🏽

@divinemsm716 you're welcome. As for suggestions, I have heard good things about the malibu c hard water wellness shampoo and the olaplex clarifying shampoo here on these youtube streets. I haven't tried them myself though. I loved ORS creamy aloe shampoo but it's so hard to find it where I live. Ultimately though, since the current one works for you, I'd suggest you dont change it until a need arises.

Hey LaToya. I’ve watched almost every KZbin video out there about hair and I always keep coming back to your videos. I love that you represent women who have hair like mine and you put out content that different from the vast majority of other hair influences. I appreciate all the knowledge you provide and I’ve learnt a lot from you. I do have a question for you. I don’t believe you’ve put out a video about the texture release. Unless I missed it lol. But is it really as safe as everyone says it is and would you ever try it
@LaToyaEbonyHair
@LaToyaEbonyHair Жыл бұрын
Hey 👋🏾 thank you so much for your kind comment! Texture release - you’re in luck! I have a recent video on it here: SAFE Relaxers. Is This For Real?! **Texture Release** kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIGUc5ifebxletk To answer your question, I’m happy to see that formulators and chemist are attempting to create products that are more safe than traditional relaxers. There is risk using ANY hair product or chemical. “Safe” to me is relative. It’s safe enough to be on the market and be applied to the hair IF the product is compliant across the world. The US cosmetics business isn’t regulated so I don’t 100% trust everything sold here lol! The texture release breaks the chemical bonds of the hair and then reforms them. Relaxers so the same thing, but uses a more harsh active ingredient. In my opinion, nothing will be safer than keeping the natural texture of your hair. I talk more about my opinions at the end of the video, but I personally wouldn’t try it. I hope the video helps and I answered your question! ❤️

My dry hair was caused by heavy metals in henna. It coats the hair and deposits proteins and minerals that makes it hard for water and creams and oils from accessing the shafts. I got OLAPLEX clarifying shampoo yesterday and conditioned and applied leave-in conditioner and shea butter.

I only do protein treatments when my hair feels really weak and soft. Can't stick to a regime anyway so listening to Robin and being attentive is the best way to go for me. Some who are more protein sensitive (like fine hair) might benefit from skipping the treatment and just incorporating light protein products into their routine sometimes

Hi!! clarifying __ and chelating shampoo are the same things, I would suggest following both of those with a moisturising shampoo!

Nice tips, I'm definitely due for a good clarifying shampoo next wash day, my hair has been feeling coarse. Question: do you think a clay wash with ACV is good for clarifying?

I’ve never tried it, but I love ACV In general. My hair always feels soft when I do rinses with it. I’ve only done a clay mask. ACV is pretty strong so I wouldn’t be surprised if it clarifies. I’d have to research. I hope it works out for you!
