I definitely needed this video. I’m in my mid 20s, I am constantly evolving, I have a husband and a baby on the way.. I’ve realized that the childish things I used to focus on plagued my mind and made me unable to grow as a person. Cutting off the dramatic people from my life was so hard because I was left with very few friends. I don’t have time to associate with people who bash my morals and values when I do nothing to show the same disrespect to others. Going from a teen to somebody in their mid 20s is the strangest change because you no longer have taste for what you once liked, you don’t like the same petty garbage, you don’t waste your money trying to appease everyone, you start to notice things that really matter in life.. some people aren’t ready to move up from that stage and they may dislike you at one point but understand you once they distance from it too. Change is good.. like you said, some people are there for a reason and others for a season. 🙌🏼 Thank you.

Thanks for this insight. I think I've started to accept forgiveness into my life - letting go of past injustices done to me and by me, turning failures into lessons learned and moving on, savouring what I have at the moment, whether by luck, gift or hard work. Definitely seizing every opportunity to learn something new, even if I don't have a particular need for the knowledge or skill. Education has become less transactional now that I'm retired. I learn for the joy of it, and for the pleasure of passing it along. And I'm not seeking missed opportunities - death to FOMO! 🙂

This video honestly came at the perfect time for me because I've been feeling this way with my own life in nearly every point you mentioned. The only thing I would add to this is that depression as a disorder isn't the same as giving up. Using it as an excuse to stay down and stagnant, however, is not healthy. My mental and emotional health is something that I struggle with more often than not, so this is one thing that I know I need to work on more consistently. ❤️

Thanks for making this video at the perfect time. I've been contented with the routine I developed in response to the isolation of the pandemic paired with my vision loss around the same time. But I know a lot of that routine was just me protecting myself while adapting. Also, setting limits and sticking to them is hard for me, but I finally found the guts to part ways with a toxic friend who just bossed me around with unwanted advice and made me feel lousy about myself. Now I realize that I'm really boring (and bored) so I guess it's time!!! Thanks for the advice and encouragement.

This video is right on time for me. I am in season of massive change in my life. One thing that stands out as note worthy to me is that I no longer connect to those around me realitives & professional persons. I am walking a path now that no one can understand (even me at times) This new path I'm on makes me feel like I am whole different person. I having been embarking on my new path of massive growth & change for about a year now. It's scary but necessary for me to handle new challenges that will/are presenting themselves to me currently. Thanks for your much appreciated insights.

Excellent content! All you said was inspired. My one clue is when I start to feel that the frustration start to change who I am. Last year many things start to change and make me anxious and constantly sick. The minute I notice those signs that were affecting my health. I made the quick move to look for another role. The new year I feel less anxious and improvement in my health and sleep.
@ender_the_3rd Жыл бұрын
This conversation aligns perfectly with my latest efforts toward personal growth. There are three signs that resonate with me, and I think each one has influenced the other two in some way to ultimately push me to the point of frustration. In the order you've shared them, the first is that I'm Bored With My Routine. The second is I'm Outgrowing Old Relationships, [ESPECIALLY] With Myself. And the third is I Don't Feel In Tune With My Values Or Myself. To me, it makes the most sense to break this down in reverse order. I don't feel in tune with my values or myself because I'm noticing that I'm not either doing the things that feel right or that I think I want to do, whether on a routine basis or at a greater level. Part of this is because I'm holding on to the idea of this person I want to be, or rather that I used to be whom I admire because I was, well, happier. The other reason is that I'm forcing myself to become someone that people expect me to be, despite not having any guidance for becoming that person while still staying authentically me. In the past two and a half years, I've become a homeowner, a husband, a father, and the primary provider for my family. There's a lot of pressure that comes with all of those duties, and while I know most of these things are what I've always dreamed of being in my life, I'm finding it difficult to be those things while still staying true and taking care of myself. This brings me to the last sign of being bored with my routine. The day-to-day of waking up for others, sitting down at my job to do as I'm told, and being present for people at the end of the day or on the weekends is exhausting. When you expend so much energy for others, it's easy to give in to a routine that is lackluster or even unhealthy. That's why I've made a conscious effort to take back my routine. I'm still making myself available to those who rely on me, like my wife and daughter, but I've also blocked out time in my day to recharge, exercise, eat balanced meals, and ultimately check in with myself. I've taken the time to reach out to friends, family, and colleagues who share the same growth mindset to collaborate about how we can continue to work on ourselves or simply be an encouraging voice for one another. These relationships validate my efforts to embrace my next level, reminding me that it's okay to move on from the person I used to be. And because I'm doing all of these things for myself and the people in my immediate circle, whether just for this season or for greater reasons, I feel more in tune with myself, and I can continue to guide myself in the right direction Thank you for encouraging this moment of reflection.

I just feel unhappy most of the time. The things I use to enjoy do not make me happy anymore. I am not motivated. I can't seem to please anyone. Nothing is good enough and my family expects too much from me. I'm always apologizing. I'm on antianxiety and antidepressants. But I feel helpless sometimes and like nothing will ever be right again. When I’m not truly following my inner compass I am letting life’s events just happen to me. There’s no intent, no meaning, no anything and it’s super depressing. I’m just reacting to everything around me instead of deciding what I need and want. I think doing nothing is almost a form of escapism because you’re not living. You’re holding onto something that is actually really bad for you and causing you to completely zone out of your own life. That’s pretty scary to understand and yet I can attest that I fully understand it. Escapism is a habit that shows up in us in many different ways and the consequence is always frozen personal growth. The key to defrosting is community and surrounding yourself with humans and animals that love you. Once you’re defrosted… then I think you can truly move forward towards finding your true self.
@zennoodle Жыл бұрын
Men are subject to habit and get cranky when new things are presented. Part of leveling up is retaining the curiosity and seeing life with amazement. That also tells life that we refuse to get cranky. haha. 😂 Keep moving and keep discovering!

Great job, Ron..as always! Always very inspiring! I decided 2023 is the time to let go of toxic and negative people....there were a few old friendships for literally years who were always so much fun to be around and always positive but then in 2022, I saw a drastic change in them becoming, negative and controlling which equals toxic. I have basically cut them out or have gray rocked them and it's been WONDERFUL. I feel so much better already and I have way too many happy, loving and positive best friends in my life to put up with anything other than that. 🥰

I'm having this same issue and am struggling with how to gently detach myself from people who have no interest in growing and trying to be positive. It's really hard because once upon a time, I was very close with a couple of people and now it's a struggle to be around them. 😔
@gionagrace6279 Жыл бұрын
@@elistia Yes Dayna, exactly. I had to start by decreasing my physical time with them and then my phone time and texting time with them bit by bit and it actually was much easier than I thought because it got to a point where I couldn't stand them. We know when it's time to let go and it's very easy when we just ask ourselves...do these people bring me happiness? We know what the next step is....just as the song goes....Seasons change.....people change and when the purpose is served, we must say goodbye. I love that poem, a reason, a season or a lifetime. It's soooo true! I'm so close to kids that I went to Kindergarten with to this day we all are BFFs. That's an unbroken chain and lifetime bond but not every relationship will be like that. You will know. 💖

Old me was a go getter super ambition now after a series of unexpected battles I feel worn out and can't find that old me anymore.

Don’t look for the old you. Allow yourself to evolve. God removed these things from your life for a reason. So you can grow and thrive. Step into this next season you’re in with confidence. People have become recyclable. Their personalities to me have been counted to me to only 4. Here comes Sally again, her comes John. There is too much emulation to much copying, too many molds. People aren't just unique anymore. Everybody wants to be someone else in their behaviors, their dress, and how they talk. Just a loop. Maybe this is a phenomenon I'm picking up?
