Today I decided to run the Zurich Barcelona Marathon as my first one. That decision led me to this video. In December 2018 I decided to stop drinking alcohol after 20 years of a self destructive downward spiral. In September 2019 I've became & was homeless for 4 months. During the lockdown I started run for the first time ever. It gave me the change to be outside while the whole city of Barcelona was empty except from a few other runners and the police driving around searching for people breaking the lockdown. Running really improved my mental health just 2 year after stop drinking. Now I enjoy taking control over the pain, overcome it & use it to improve both mentally & physically. I run by my self & don't really struggle finding the motivation to run. I enjoy the challenge to do it every day & I enjoy the feeling of finishing a run even more. My life have always been a race in a way, but for the first time ever I'm really taking control over it. But I've have been struggling with my discipline, like getting up early in the morning & run before I start my day. That have changed watching this video. There are several things that needs to change with such decision. Anyhow, I knew all this already because much of it have been said before by other amazing people. But this time it was different, Eliud's insight and approach to life, running & many other things have a very honest & down to earth feeling that I appreciate. I feel very inspired to achieve this goal now in 2023. Thank you both for this amazing video. Please receive all my best wishes. Take care & be safe everybody.

Dear Dr Rangan Chatterjee, the video really inspires me much and I am a 5K daily runner now. I am a retired man age 65 and enjoy much in running daily. The video is not merely on running but with lot of wisdom which would be great to be shared as many others as possible. It would be great if the video can be with proper sub-title ( there are shortcomings on the auto generated sub-title) which should be fine for those not so good in listening. Thx a lot for your making such great conversation with such a great man. 🙏🙏🙏

I am a long distance runner, and have completed 9 marathons. I just finished watching this incredible interview. As a runner, who has woken up at 5:30 A.M. and run outside three times a week over the last 9 years, I found myself having 'Aha moments', and nodding my head throughout this interview. I have to give Dr. Chatterjee so much credit for the questions he asked!! He asked profound questions about running, and as a runner hearing the answers I felt validated because it all resonated with me! I am amazed at the specific questions Dr. Chatterjee asked; it felt like he went inside the mind and heart of a runner! Eliud is not just someone who inspires me as a runner, but he seems like a compassionate, wise, strong human being I want to grow into.

Dr. Rangan just did a very good job, nice questionnaire. What a brilliant stream of answers from Eliud, he just gave us the best of himself. From training and following a strict plan to sharing with us what happens in the mind of a marathon winner. The total outcome of this is the perfect success, for winners!
