Hey Andy, it's great to see another upload from you. Hope you've been well! :) I've been playing ocarina for close to a year now but I don't get to practice as much as I'd like to. As a result, I still feel somewhat like a beginner. It drives me crazy because there are some songs that just trip me up every time I try to play them. Like I know the notes I'm supposed to play but as soon as I get to them, my fingers don't want to cooperate. But I'll get there eventually. I just never realized how fun playing ocarina really was. I also decided to take on something else, switching almost all of my daily computers over to Fedora Linux. I'm a seasoned computer pro but I've been a Windows user my entire life and have dabbled in Linux here and there, but never as a daily driver. But I found I have been concentration since learning to play ocarina and have not been just willing to give up on something I can't figure out right away, so I do believe that's one facet that's helped me on my Linux journey as well.

I feel that. I’ve had my ocarina for a couple months now but thanks to school I really had to put practice on a back burner. I know I’m not terrible but I’m also not where I’d like to be in terms of skill level. Good luck on getting better with the ocarina though! It’s a super cool instrument

I've learned a lot from you about Ocarinas! Just over a year ago I bought my first 12 hole from STL. I had so many issues with initial practice and concern over my tuning, but I kept going. I bought a NBN at your recommendation, and it really is one of my best Ocarinas because I take it everywhere with me. I have 3 kids, so practice isn't as consistent as I'd like it to be, but I love the time I do get to practice. In terms of keeping passion going, I find that when I haven't been playing the ocarina, I'm looking for new songs that I can play. Finding new ones constantly brings that passion and excitement back, especially printing them and adding them to my ever growing binder songbook ❤ If I'm not finding songs, I'm browsing STL or Songbird for the millionth time. I admit, I look at Amazon Ocarinas too, but that's more for laughs and fun than for any actual serious purchases.

Great video! It definitely shines a light on some things I hadn’t even thought about with the ocarina. Definitely agree with the point about staying consistent with practice but not letting yourself burn out; it’s pretty important to know when it’s time to end a practice session (:

I noticed you try to produce more self development content and it doesn’t go as well as ocarina one, this is a problem a channel i work for had, and sadly it’s how the algorithm works, this type of video, however would be a great way to direct the audience who cares about ocarina and self development to a second channel based around self development, that way the algorithm won’t punish you for not giving it what it asks of you (ocarina videos) and your channel will grow faster Just an advice from a fellow content creator and judoka 😊

Been learning the ocarina and looking for songbooks. The only problem I have been running into is that they are all written in tabs instead of sheet music. Does anyone know of a zelda songbook that ISN'T in tabs?

i have just ordered an ocarina by STL and it's ceramic. i am just now realizing how fragile it could be and maybe not so beginner friendly, do you have any sort of advice?
