M2 Skins in carbon fiber look OEM quality and fix the fingerprint issues. Lossless Scaling app on Steam works great on this laptop for upscaling and framegen, easily netting 120fps in any GPU-heavy game and uses less power too. Updated mine (Core Ultra 7 155H + 4060 + 16gb) to Win 11 24H2 this last weekend. Made a huge difference, much snappier than before.

@ so I am a college student, when I have the GPU off only using the intel graphics then it gives me around 6-7 hours on average in performance mode, when the RTX 4060 is turned on even while browsing the web in performance mode I will say around 3-4 hours depends

everybody talks about the 65w limit, but this is what the g14 gives you as well unless you enable ultimate performance mode, and most just leave it in standard or optimized. they perform similarly, the real downgrade the hp makes is in build quality and in speakers. the build is VERY thin. the metal used just bends super easily in comparison to the rock solid g14. then the speakers, are just woeful for a laptop of this caliber

Thanks for review..I remember the issue of charging with 3rd party chargers. Has this been resolved or still no option to charge with 3rd party chargers?

It will charge with a 65 watt usb-c charger, but the laptop has to be in HIBERNATING or SHUT DOWN completely to charge. I do use a Ugreen 140watt charger and a Baseus 100watt portable battery pack, both of which charge this laptop in any situation, running or not.

Could you clarify something for me for the gigabyte aero 16 battery life in your own chart it mentions 9 hours video playback, but you mention it gets 2 hours. It doesn't add up for.

@@Lind77 It really depends what you do with it. I want to 3d modeling and unrealengine, also I use a bigger laptop 16``, ok I get only 60hz but in 1 billion colors (10 bit) death. the power load for this particalar is not 65 watts but 120 max.

I own a custom built 2024 omen 14 w/ per key RGB, all white, & it's glorious. The keyboard. And the lack of fingerprints. HOWEVER: here's some things that should change in 2025. -32gb of ram without having to go to an RTX 4070 which this thin laptop can't take advantage of -higher nit OLED or move to LED (looking at you lenovo) -the video camera is a trashcan. Quality is poo poo -The speakers are trash. My 2018 Huawei Matebook x pro is leagues better. -My 4060 really wants more power. We need more watts, as you mentioned in the video,

Dang, I was looking between this and the Aleinware x14 r2. Both are on sale atm… Wish Alienware had more battery life and wish the Omen had more power…

Why do reviewers "fix" battery tests? Setting its brightness at 20% and using quiet mode is unrealistic and fools people. I use it indoors at around 40-50% brightness and use optimised performance to get a mix of battery and performance. Using real brightness and Windows optimised would standardize these tests for the average buyer as well.

So that the test is standard across of all tested devices, such that the only variables are the CPU or battery size. Not how many different programs you have open or for how long you play a game because these are all different for every person. However, unless he uses the same test with every other laptop video he has, this isn't very helpful if he doesn't compare anything.
