Hp just notified me today that my spectre x360 14in has shipped. Ive been looking for a new laptop and your review was a major part of my final decision. Thanks for the clear and concise tech reviews.

I have one of these x 4 weeks (as of 04-24-2024). You CAN use any 65 watt USB-C charger, BUT the laptop must be either in HIBERNATE mode OR completely shut down. I have NOT had issues with flex of the keyboard deck or trackpad like I have seen in earlier reviews. I get around 45-47 fps on Helldivers 2 in 1920x1200 resolution at high quality, but it FEELS as smooth and fast as my desktop which gets around 75-80 fps. I realize it is slower than the competition, but I got mine (identical to yours) on sale at BestBuy for $1499. It is VERY quiet for a gaming laptop, even in the lower-powered balanced mode, capping the GPU at 50 watts (although it can boost to 65 in performance mode). I am very happy with it. I enjoy using it for work at the coffee shop too. It is very portable.

Thanks for the info regarding the charger. Very helpful!

Great review as always. I went with the 2024 G14. For me, the weight was the main differentiating factor. The HP feels a good bit heavier than the G14.
@andrewmarcdavid7 ай бұрын
I feel the build on the G14 is better as well. The build on the Omen is good just not as good as the G14.

I tested the G14 Oled 4070 a few weeks (media consumption and gaming mostly) and it indeed has fantastic build quality, weight, battery times and speakers best I’ve ever heard. But as always with ASUS it’s the same problem 4 years straight- cooling and heat problems. The PC gets super hot in your lap after only 30-60 mins. The W- key was borderline hot after 60 mins. I really want to like it but just can’t. I guess it checks everything if you always use it on a cooling pad..

Another great review :) Regarding the 100W power brick issue, I have seen some other Omen and Victus models also suffering from the same issue where you need at least a 100W PD charger to charge the laptop although the user manuals for all those suggests that unit, in theory, can accept lower wattage. I have to mention though that those models ship with a barell-type charger by default(but mentioned to support USB-PD).

Andrew, it is really nice that you have some scenes from a bit more far away with you and the laptop. We can get a better perspective on the design size and overall feel. Really great work! Thank you again for this amazing review.

Appreciate your disclaimer at the start of every video. 1 suggestion, do also tell that during video rendering and gameplay if the laptop is plugged in or running on battery.

I love the design and graphics that you put in your videos. For example the price as tested for the PC was a nice animation. Thank you for the video!

I don’t get one thing no one’s mentions, the screen frame somehow is asymmetrical and / slightly bent at top where the face recognition is placed, looks cheap and perhaps poses a risk to screen getting loose in future 😢

I would like to see a better comparison in size. This laptop has a chin below the screen and also a protruding back side behind the screen, so the footprint on the table must be much deeper than the G14. Hence, this may not fit in a backpack for a 14" laptop. This is not related to this specific review, but I find it strange that people usually consider a laptop's thickness, which is just for aesthetics, and ignore the footprint on the table, which is for practicality - it determines whether you can fit the laptop in a backpack or not.

With the amount of flex shown on the lid of the omen i would be worried about the screen being pushed into the keyboard while in a bag or backpck. This could lead to the screen getting damaged or scratched

Hello, which one is better? Especially in term of cooling?
@Salman-hq2ef2 ай бұрын
So how were they in comparison?
@williamcohen33517 ай бұрын
Nice pc. Camera was okay although I have seen better. Speakers were okay. Display good. For a 14 in laptop I think they limited the 4060 gpu to 65 watts for better cooling. Also if they made the 4060 gpu at a higher wattage then they would probably need a higher wattage power brick and also a barrel pin charging port to get around the power limitation of USB-C power ports. This would also increase the carry around weight because of the larger power brick. Keyboard color good. Another great quality review as always.

keep cooking my man! Will you be reviewing the 'leaked' Lenovo Yoga Slim with Qualcomm Snapdragon X? Apparently it should show up next month..
@tahaunal6264 ай бұрын
Why screen flex? The addition of metal plates to support the screen shouldn't be too difficult. Or perhaps a more robust material could be used to construct the backplate. I'm tired of seeing Windows laptops with flimsy hinges and flexible screens. Since I prefer using Linux, I don't own a Mac and I never plan to use one, but I do admire the build quality of Macbooks.

Thanks for another great review, AMD! I like the design but man, that Vegas-at-night keyboard is a deal breaker for me. I know that HP claims that a per-key RGB is coming later but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it be Razer/ASUS style. It may just be same light bleed style as this one with the ability to light individual keys. And I guess that touchpad isn’t haptic, correct? It’s a clickpad? HP spectre sure spoils a user with an amazing haptic touchpad.

It is not a haptic touchpad.

Another excellent review from Andrew Marc David! Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed with the HP Omen Transcend 14 when you compare it to the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 in my humble opinion. Thank you Andrew! 👍😁

hi, I found this omen 16 i7 11800h with rtx 3070 max q I've seen in various videos that it reaches temperatures as bad as 95°, is there a way to reduce them? with games like resident evil 4 remake at 1080p 60fps. I don't know much about PCs since the best I've had was an i3 8145u and the LCD steam deck so I would like to have some information, thank you very much to anyone who replies.

I'm staying away from HP after my current laptop. I sen tit off to get fixed took them 2 weeks. I use this laptop to work from home so I didnt get paid during that time. Within 2 hours of getting my laptop delivered back to me I find out they didnt fix anything so now I need to send it back and also rent a laptop just to continue working from home. Their customer service is rude and won't help at all beyond offering to collect the laptop.
