I lived in Thailand for 14 years ... in Bangkok. I took BTS, MRT or motorcycle taxis and never sat in a traffic jam. If you are an expat, do NOT buy a car or motorbike if you plan to live in Bangkok. You simply do not need it.
@RamzeTravels3 ай бұрын
Very much agree with you on not needing a car if you live in Bangkok.

To be honest those frustrations are pretty small given the benefits. You have to develop the skill to just roll with things in Asia. Im Irish and have spent 17 years in Asia, mostly in China but I own an apartment in Pattaya and Manila also. Your attitude is good, don’t let the whingeing and meaning of other expats drag you down over time.

💯 Agree! It was honestly hard to even find a few things to nitpick about. I like to control my destiny and experiences. I don’t expect the country to conform to me. It is I who must adapt or leave.

No seasons is a nuisance. Nowhere inexpensive to escape to for a cold week. I live in a modern Western city. It will take 45 minutes to go 8 miles, not even rush hour. Saving face also means saying yes when you mean no. If someone give you an incorrect answer, don't challenge or correct. The biggest bugbear for me would be boredom.

I had a similar situation at Tucom tho I was on holiday and it wasn't hours it was days and they never did fix it.

If you are mooching in a foreign land, accept or move on. You had the right summary at the end.
@RamzeTravels3 ай бұрын
I would hardly call what we are doing mooching but I wholeheartedly agree it’s their country and we can love it or leave it. That said, we love it and honestly it was hard to even think of 6 things for this video and most of them are a stretch.

HI. I am a certified teacher from Canada, and this is my first year here. We will not last long. The visas are harder to get than in China. It is very expensive here as well. And yes, being hot all the time is too much. We are moving to Chiangmai as a last resort. Thank you for the video.
@RamzeTravels3 ай бұрын
The heat I totally understand and especially if you’re from Canada. When you say very expensive, as compared to where? I have been to 58 countries and lived in a few and find this to be amongst the cheapest when you compare real costs across the board. A lot of expats that have been here for 5+ years sometimes complain about rising costs here but they haven’t seen what has happened with costs around the world which have fast outpaced Thailand.
@peterfodor50589 күн бұрын
It can be expensive if you eat in a German restaurant or want to find Western things. I personally feel bad to pay the right taxi fares, because it's very cheap, same food. I always give tips and still cost a fraction like in Western countries.

Great info. You mentioned Colombia. What were your six things about Medellín?
@RamzeTravels3 ай бұрын
Danger, food was average, costs (at least in Poblado, Medellin) were rising fast, inability to just drive around the country at a whim (safety issues), growing anger towards foreigners and lack of education. Colombia has an average IQ of 83 🤦

@@RamzeTravels Thanks, that's a useful perspective. Thailand is so much safer.

@@RamzeTravels Spot on, as for Colombia it is most definitely at par with Thailand when it comes to ''Being on Time''😄

Could you also elaborate on dirty weather? Compared to Colombia there is a crop burning season which may pollute Bangkok's air in January-February, how dirty can it get? So many foreigners talk about this CO2 levels and whole day smoke etc. What do you think? Also for pork, I don't eat pork but if you can make a rising tone muu(หมู) like when you say reeeaaaallly?stress sound they will understand you better
@RamzeTravels3 ай бұрын
Basically from March through June 1st Chiang Mai is unlivable and Bangkok has many days of hazardous air quality. Pattaya has a few days but overall because it’s on the water, it’s fine. Once the rainy season starts like now, it’s all great. Just have to be aware. Also if you are healthy, it’s not that bad. If you have any lung issues, you have to be extra cautious.

Dot not eat pork? Order chicken and they will bring you pork. What after that? Become a zombie, make a sound you suggested.

As a retired Carpenter from the United States living in Thailand I have to say I don't give you much credibility of anything when you have a shelf above your head that is hung the way it is. You must have really peed off the Thai Carpenter that was tasked to hang that shelf.
