Hey there! I'm usually just a silent watcher but just wanted to say I'm a violinist, I live and travel in my self built little NV200 camper. I go from gig to gig, in bars/restaurants/ music venues, I do session and recording jobs and throughout the summer I work the festivals. Inbetween I busk. Music is my obsession and being single I can be as obsessed as I like without worrying that a partner would be excluded, I suppose if I found someone as mad as I am it could work, but generally I never feel lonely or feel like I'm missing out. I covered my living expenses with a little bit put by and my travel companion is a little one eyed mongrel poodle cross called Pearl. I did the family life, raised 5 kids single handedly in the end, worked hard till they flew the nest. I enjoyed that chapter but this nomad life has given me freedom to now live passionately and as I'm about to enter my half century I'm excited for the future. I dont have an itch to travel the world anymore (I've done plenty of that in my time) but I do feel that I'm travelling MY world. The people I've met, friends gained, lovers lost, success and failure have brought me to exactly where I'm meant to be. Itd be foolish to say I dont have regrets, we're all human, but those lows and sometimes deep depression and anxiety filled days although painful at the time, can be worked through. I wish you all the success and happiness in the world no matter which road you travel to get there.

You should be so proud of yourself!!! I also left someone who was abusive with only my clothes and xmas ornaments. It was the hardest thing I ever went through, but the best thing I ever did for myself. I vowed never to let someone to treat me that way again. Years later I am now happily remarried. Wishing you life filled with peace love amd happiness!

@@Thechristianremnantnomad Be very careful, even though he abused you, a part of you still loves him and can be manipulated. It took me 3 times to actually leave. Each time he begged me back. We even went to 4 counselors, but in the end, within months the abuse would start again. Emotional abuse is even worse than physical in some ways. I have had both. Try to have as little contact as possible and DON'T let him know your feelings etc. I went through counseling with someone who specialized in abuse after. She predicted everything he would do. They follow a pattern. Don't let him suck you back in no matter how difficult things get. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong.

My man - thanks for the honesty. It’s comforting to hear that even the least emotionally vulnerable of us, still have their blips. My job involves me talking to people all day, and I’m sick of it - but also afraid of missing it if I were in the opposite position. I guess there is only this moment. No point in dreading the future presumably. Thanks again mate - take it from all of us, that we’d miss these vids of yours if you stopped. It gives us some relief and purpose! 👍🏼

@@mortdog I want to buy property in the middle of no where. Just grow food. Then invite likeminded people. Because after you calm down. Meaning dump the rat race and titles, you can reconnect with nature. Then reconnect with yourself. Then enjoy similarly calm people. I was inspired by “the weedy gardener” For now, I will put a hitch on the car and build a mobile greenhouse. Just farmeout a landscape trailer and then attach polycarbonate greenhouse panels. And make a Chinese greenhouse blanket.

I love nothing better than hidden places in the woods, to park my car with my trusty beagle, Blue. My alone time is necessary for me to remain sovereign while living authentically. I am so happy for you. Took me years to de-program myself from Society. It's worth every second!

You are a very likeable chap, honest, care for animals, great love of history, quite philosophical and good fun, I’m sure many feel the same about you. I’m sure many can relate to your story (I certainly have) and have similar views on life on Western Europe. Becoming happy in your own company is such a good thing. You describe it very well, it’s good that you seem happy and I’m sure you will inspire others to go out and be brave in life. I have a place in the mountains in the south of bulgaria, it’s basic and I’m planning on working on it when I can get there. If you ever head that way let me know you’d be free to stay anytime, my neighbour has the key. Safe travelling and keep em coming 👍🏻

Have so many hobbies to entertain myself, learned and practice bushcraft, survival skills, archery, mountain biking, fishing metal detecting, shooting, magnet fishing, gold panning and hiking. There are so many outdoor pursuits that take advantage of your lifestyle that are interesting, healthy and enjoyable. Stay safe mate. Always try and keep your head up, I know it can be hard at times. Oh! And stay the hell away from tinder. It’s poisonous for your mind and soul

I’ve laughed with you and felt humbled by your conversations with the Turkish guy who was struggling to make ends meet. I’ve been inspired by you to the degree of converting my car with the plan to do some summer traveling initially in the UK but then further afield too. I planned to do that whilst waiting for the Philippines to open up for foreigners so I can join my partner there whom I haven’t seen for over two years due to covid. Fortunately the country opened up today so I’m sorting out my affairs so I can join her and build our home and life together. If you ever get to Asia and in particular the Philippines I’d love to buy you a beer or two. Keep up the good work. Regards John

Thankyou for being so open about your personal feelings and self reflection. I also left a relationship of 11 years a few years ago now, and although it feels like I’ve changed and grown into a much improved version of myself, I’m realising that I’m also just spending a lot of my time and effort trying to get back the things I felt I’d lost in the hope of regaining the security I’ve imagined it provided. I’m starting to realise that maybe working my backside off to try and save to get another mortgage, the partner, the car, savings, pension etc etc shouldn’t be my only focus above all else. It’s just a very hard cycle to break after being reared and conditioned with that single formula for success being so deeply ingrained into you, but not impossible I’m slowly realising. Just to find enough headspace and the consistent motivation for honest self reflection is a gift in itself, it’s in these currently fleeting moments that I can start to see what happiness may truly look like for me. Thanks again, I look forward to seeing where your journey takes you.

Just randomly come across your video and I resonate with you so much I feel like I needed to hear someone else say in such a raw way how I actually feel... I hope you find what you need from life

Thanks for your honest! It’s humbling to hear! I’ve just bought a small van with a bed in it and I’m thinking of living in it and leaving the rat race somewhat. 💙

Thanks for this Morts We’ve been following you for a while now & always look forward to seeing which part of the world you’re in & the adventures you have along the way. Glad to know you’re doing ok & thanks for sharing your personal perspective on things. Funnily enough I first found your channel as I also have a Citigo - but with 2 of us a camping conversion isn’t really feasible 😄 so instead it’s being replaced by a minivan which we can use to go & explore ourselves 👍

You remind me of myself. Not so much in terms of how you are living (though I could easily imagine myself similar, perhaps in the not too distant future), but in terms of your thought process, inclinations and intellectual honesty.

I've finally caught up to this video of the whys and how's and what for's. Well summed up and glad for you (and me!) that you have an outlet here on KZbin. I can see too the viewing figures growth, along the way, which I'm sure helps, moneytarywise? I hope, and doubt, that will change you and your content too much, and continue to look forward to the next videos. Morts for Mayor!

I completely agree with what you're saying about the need to fill our lives. I'm desperate to convert my little Seat Mii but as I have commitments (kids, elderly parents, job) it'll need to be for weekends/overnights only at this stage. I do watch some of your footage of driving over rough terrain with gritted teeth as I know how low my car sits 😬 Good luck and looking forward to what you share next.

Hello Morts, thank you for your upload! It was great to understand about you and what you feel about your life at the moment. I'm even working in the management consulting field, so totally understood how you felt when you were working. It sounds like you are becoming more aware of your spiritual journey and that's quite interesting, listening to your thoughts. I think I haven't spent enough time to find out my life purpose, what I really want to do - just getting on with current life and even haven't been able to define what my core values are. What you said in this video is inspiring - or a reminder what the important thing in my life is. I'm so sorry to hear about Tinder, however I'm sure you'll encounter people including someone special as you are following your path so no worries! As for the guitar, please include how you play in the video! I found you were listening to Sean Angus Watson and I found in Spotify - love it. Also I found the tripod you are using - which I found very unique one and useful comparing to any other product so thank you very much for sharing information. (You didn't name it, but I searched and found it, ha ha!) Even this video didn't include any activities, just your talk, I enjoyed and maybe you can include this kind of short talk from time to time in the future. Anyways, please continue to enjoy your journey - stay safe!👍
