I am growing to love my M235i after a couple months with it. I had an e92 N55 335i with coil overs and the usual bolt on's that got totaled. I had to get something fast and wound up in an M235i. I have to say I agree with you on some of the shortcomings especially the floaty feeling/bodyroll and more disconnected steering. I followed the same upgrade path. E92 335i to M235i. The steering is my number one complaint. The E92 was practically perfect with steering feel and feedback..... We just have to accept that BMW is not going to ever make a car like that again. We have to go to Porsche for any sort of mechanical steering... Cayman's are wonderful though!!

If you want a tight, sporty ride go for the M235i - you won't regret it. If you're looking for more comfort but still with a punch, take the 335i - just be sure you're happy with the extra size and weight. They're two very different cars to drive. As for them being "traded in all the time" - yeah, like the rest of the range. BMW UK have a grand total of 22 across the whole country. Smaller independent dealers seek them out, because they move quickly and for good prices. It only takes a bit of research on owner forums to see that the car is reliable with plenty of happy drivers.
@ShogunsDojo5 жыл бұрын
The 335is sets itself aside from the regular 335, I’d pick it over the 235i as I think the n54 sounds way better and it’s just a special package. The 235i counters with that shorter wheel base which makes the car feel ready to change direction at any time. I own a 230i, I don’t think there is a bad choice here.

Im buying one of these cars in a few weeks. I test drove a 45k mile one and I had the same complaint, the brakes felt so bad. You had to dig deep and they didnt bite unless you were all the way down. I have a stock mustang ecoboost (non performance pack) and the brakes feel miles above the one I test drove. They bite up top and are very easy to modulate. Can anyone comment on this? I actually like the brakes on the m235i vs many other cars. I personally hate when in bites with like 0.1mm of travel. I press as much as I want to stop and it does so linearly, instead of like 5% pedal depression and 50% brake application.

Brakes - I don't recall when BMW made a change, but they changed brake pads a few years ago. Why? Well the "Ultimate Driving Machine" company saw complaints on JD Powers surveys from cool wannabe owners that there was stuff on their wheels. OMG it was brake dust. Poor dummies. But instead of BMW sticking to their guns, they changed to a different pad that created less dust, but was also less effective. Gotta have good JD Powers ratings to satisfy owners who didn't know what they were saying, even if it meant lowering the performance.

@failxontour Жыл бұрын
If you want them to die sure. No seriously you should have at least amateur levels of driving experince I'd say at the very least a 1/2 years under your belt. So you feel safe driving a car arround. Of course you can start on a car like this but it's gonna be quite a tough challenge RWD, and 450 NM torque are just not beginner level numbers anymore. A Golf 7 GTI with FWD and turbo-charged they have plentyful assistants already so you won't be able to throw yourself away. FWD is always a better decision for beginners because it allows them to get a better understanding of car, steering and is more straightforward. As most people just don't know how to handle RWD. Me neither but I feel confident enough to were I say I'll pack it if I don't go full-bolt on with the throttle all the time. What might also be a good beginners entry car a numbed down non turbo-charged BMW like a 330i/328i possibly as E9X as otherwise you go age wise to old. The car's are not nessecairly that reliable anymore. They have a fair square of issues the older you go, nothing to major but bewarey when buying a car someone might flip a dump on you. Also a reason to go E9X already today is the fact of infotainment. You want Bluetooth or comforts go with a newer car. That would make more of a beginner friendly approach if you want something defintly with RWD & BMW. Though I could not bring my parents to possibly allow me to do this when I started. They'd rip my head straight off if I bought a BMW or any RWD car as beginner car. Comes down to personal preference and there is also small engine RWD BMW's with 6-Cylinders the best one being the 320i from the E46 which produces 150 HP. Beginner friendly numbers and yes you can drift that but it needs dedication. Please don't crash your car.

5:23 Sorta funny that you say this car is great to take friends with. Then mods that I did full rear seat delete. My brain processing that like wait a second. I know this car seem it's just designated for the task for a track so you better treat it like one by removing your backseats like with any 2-door car guy does on a car with power. But my brain just goes whut why? This whole argument by some people it's a racear you have to treat it like one now. It's a sports wagon you can still drive it like a normal car, not saying keep it stock do wth all you guys wanna do you're gonna do it anyway but be mindful of stuff that just isn't gonna cut it. Like removing the backseats when that just removes accessability and makes the car generally worse on regular commutes / practabilty what's nexts then a roll cage I mean you better have on it's a race car, oh and bucket seats better have that race position.The steering wheel has to come out more, close to me and we better have a flat shifter, with that logic remove the radio & stupid AC & whole interior it's pointless weight. Don't get me wrong but if all you wanted was a naked sports car why not just buy a kitcar or naked bike something people? And why start with the M235i it's the old N55B30 engine not even the new one B58B30 with less weight and better fuel economy leaching for that Stage 2 tune that gives it more fuel. 6:50 the whole argument off stock springs bad kids did you have an adjustable suspension or not that would be great to know. Also why springs only not a whole suspension change. If the car is about adjustments you could have bought a better suspension to eliminate the body roll if it was so bad. I feel like people are depicting body roll as the ultima of bad things there are. It's also the thing that gives you comfort on mostly bumpy old roads. Which there are plenty of out there depending on where you live.

I think this scene has a huge and powerful message about how horrible is to kill another person even when you have justified reasons (being in a war, self defense...) or it's legal and even the society supports you. Also it amazes me that Clint Eastwood, a famous conservative, shows that in a movie knowing how conservative parties support weapons

7200 miles in 6 months isn't a whole lot? Jesus, you Americans do a lot more driving than us in the UK, suppose gotta travel further for everything. I do about 6000-8000 a year max & use mine almost daily.
@SimplyCarThings4 жыл бұрын
Alfie Clements i could’ve easily put around 18k miles on mine in a year when i owned it, but i forcefully limited myself from driving it excessively haha

@@SimplyCarThings Thats crazy, as I say, probably since living in London nothing is too far away, never rack up the miles. What milage on a car is seen as a lot? Another over 80,000 here I stay away from.

Your driving position is incorrect... You re too far from steering wheel. Or it s just because the video? Arms angles are to be about 90+ degrees... to allow a complete turn both left and right without ever taking your hands off the wheel... But you re really handsome 🔥❤️
