Any parent would have reacted like Ella’s dad. He certainly didn’t deserve to be smacked around for it. It’s great that mom stopped and thought about calling one of her friends but, come on, in this day and age, what he was fearing happens and far too often.

That is NOT an overreaction of a parent! Any good parent would freak out and do exactly what he did! I know I would. And when you’re that scared or panicked you do not think straight. I know I wouldn’t be thinking to call my kid’s friends. But that to me is a NORMAL REACTION of any parent. That’s just me.

I was visiting my cousin in LA when the Chatsworth train crash happened. What a tragedy. Brandon in Minnesota... I remember when he disappeared. I've driven the 110 miles north to Marshall many times and have thought about what could have happened to him on every trip up there and back. After all this time and nothing. I feel for his parents, family and friends. The fact that thousands of people in the US every year just poof, disappear seemingly never to be seen again gives me the creeps. I can't help but think that something abnormal happened to all those missing people. Precious few did come back, some of them many years later and when asked had no idea where they had been. Because there are many things about our planet that we don't understand, I can't speculate. And then there are the thousands of documented uh, alien abduction cases worldwide. ANYTHING is possible. I hope Brandon comes home someday.

@@dieselblaze6665 Exactly! Some alien species are dying out thus the need to abduct healthy humans, especially women of child bearing age to produce hybrids. This may sound bonkers crazy to some but guaranteed, it IS happening. Many of those hybrids are living among us and you'd never know it. The bullies of the universe, the Reptilians, it's thought that they too have been abducting us but for MUCH more sinister reasons.

My cousin has been missing for what will be four years this month. No one knows where she could be, and we’re fearing that she may be dead. She left behind three daughters (two who are deaf) & we know her daughters & grandchildren are her world. She was last seen in Dunlap, Tennessee. No one has heard anything, despite everyone being on the lookout. Her name is Tiffany & she is 46 years old. I feel for Brandon’s family. It’s unsettling not knowing where your loved ones are & it’s a dreary feeling knowing there’s not much you can do.

@Althea Ramnarain That is awful. Were there people on the bus when the attack happened that knew when the killer had left, but still didn't do anything for him? Do you know if they caught the murderer? If so, did the creep try and give an excuse as to why he attacked the driver?

@Althea Ramnarain haha! That is crazy. When I was young I never met anyone or saw anyone with the same name. My parents pronounced it like Sure Ree, but all my life people automatically say Sherry. I was really shy as a kid so I hated correcting teachers or well, anybody. I'm sure you must also know the "pain" of not being able to find any personalized keepsakes. Lol. I'm sounding all negative about it, but I actually am very happy with the name I was given. I think names like ours that aren't a dime a dozen are good to have even if it can be a hassle at times. 😊 🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨🌸✨

@Althea Ramnarain lol I had the nickname Ree for a very brief time. It's because my friends had them and I didn't so Ree was agreed on, but it didn't really take. That's terrible about your in-laws. Were you younger or older when you met them? Are you close? Do you call them Mom and Dad? I'm sorry for so many questions. It's just perplexing to me that they'd do that after so many years.

I remember when I was a child, my mother wouldn't let me go out and play one day. I asked if I had done anything wrong and she said no. I asked her why then. She was reluctant to tell me, but finally she claimed that someone called and said that they were going to KILL a member of her family that day. Being a kid, I found this to be quite scary. I remember my dad took us someplace that weekend. To some isolated motel with a pool. It was out in the middle of nowhere and it was kind of a spontaneous trip. It seems like at most we drove a few hours to get to where this place was. At the time, being 8 or 9 years old, I didn't fully understand why we weren't going to visit my uncle Robert, who lived only about 200 miles away. We could have stayed there for free and I loved playing with my cousins. Yet, we stayed at that hotel, at locally at one of the few restaurants in the area. I did enjoy getting to play in the pool there, so it must have been summer or a warm enough season. I didn't have school at the time, and if the pool was warm enough, maybe it was summer. This was back in the late 70s or early 80s if memory serves me correctly (over 40 years ago). After a few days...we went home. We didn't get another strange phone call, at least not like that one. Maybe years later, while talking to my mom, she brought up that instance. She claimed the voice sounded like (I'll change the name to protect the guilty here) Margaret, who was my best friend's mom. At the time, I thought it was crazy. Why would she play a prank like that, or if it wasn't a prank, why would she make such a threat?! Getting to know Margaret, over the years, I did notice some rather odd and even downright disturbing personality traits....that maybe as I kid I just thought were an adult thing. By the time I was a young adult, and still on good social terms with her sons, I started noticing some very strange things about their mother. Now that I think about it, she seemed like a very spooky kind of person, perhaps mentally imbalanced. There is one other possibility though. According to elderly my mother now (in recent years), that was not the first time that someone had threatened our family. When I was still an infant and even when I was born, people threatened to do us all harm, because of the sinful and immoral actions, of my FATHER. He turned out to be a real creep, who lets just say had a very immoral and illegal hobby, that landed him in prison for several years with a very ugly scarlet letter that will be attached to him for the rest of his life. So it is possible, that HE is the reason we received that threatening phone call, so many years ago. I want to believe that he was what started that, but then something wasn't quite right about Margaret either. To this day, I don't know the whole story.

The phone thing could just have been the phone. I dropped mine in water, didn't leave it in rice for long enough, and I started getting calls from people, who all thought they were calling a drug dealer. That went on for two days. I've also had weird phone activity when I would go by a place that had huge microwave/communications towers. Like the display would change. I'd get phone calls from Alarm Companies. It hasn't happened for years. Better phones maybe.

Don’t EVER apologize for “overreacting” when it comes to your children. The world is a cruel and awful place sometimes, and being a concerned parent is exactly what you should be doing. I’ve taught my daughter code words to tell me if she’s ever in trouble or danger, and we even have coded texts so I know if it’s actually her texting me. I don’t care who tells me it’s crazy, because it’s my daughter, and I’ll do whatever I need to in order to keep her safe. She knows not to be scared of the world, but to also not be stupid and put herself in a position where things like that can happen.

That’s exactly how you as a parent should have responded, who do you have around you telling you that you overreacted? You should respond that way don’t let anyone tell you different . What if you took it as a joke and treated as such and then it ended up being for real ?? Would have the people around you feel the same ? Ugh that’s scary and sad
