stone forest is great to stop Daimon vortex. Charge and let him pull you, then release when you're close enough. Great way to save all your party.

I used it after Ruinous sigil that gives some anti stagger protection (since enemies entering it will be staggered themselves) and it gives me more time to cast stone forest

I actually never knew Masterful Kill had such a lenient parry window! I stuck primarily to magic classes back when I played, but now I am trying out all the physical classes almost a decade later. Thank you for the DD content. It made me start playing again ❤

The magic is massive and easily understandable for the most part. Melee in this game is where you gotta really read the skills or you will miss something. Masterful kill for example kind of sucks at first until you realize... oh its infinite lol.

I'd say High Lassitude is my favorite spell. I just love its spammability and watch monsters freeze in time as my pawns absolutely murder them.

I'd honestly say any "Arc of ..." from warrior to be a over the top skill. Takes a very long time to prepare for a melee ability. But when it hits, time slows down and rubble actually flies up from the force into the ground.

With a rarified Chaos set Arc of Might looks like Guts and the Berserker armour. So sweet! Just stagger some monsters and boom! in one fell swoop mega Damage.

This is the only game that made me feel like a true sorcerer. Plus the vocation isn't as mobile or fun as the others but the challenging part is positioning and timing, the anxiety of that bar filling up while the big enemy targets you. And of course, the satisfaction of being powerful and wiping the enemy clean after moments of vulnerability is amazing 😊 PS. Tried other better vocation but Sorcerer is still my ebst way of slaying dragons

No matter how much I start a new game+ once in a while, I always ended up picking up Strider and Ranger for the most part. I am just addicted by the "one shot, one kill from the distance" playstyle, not gonna lie

I started Dragons Dogma this week and only played mage so far and reached rank 7/9. And honestly, the first two offensive spells (don't know the names, but they are rapid fire fireballs and raining lightning) are my two favorites so far. Some other spells look cooler, but i don't like them in battle. The fire wall is weird to aim and prevents you from moving for too long. The electric whip hitbox is weird, i often don't hit or hit less enemys than expected. The ice pillar is pretty weak (but i only have the weakest version atm). And the other skills are support skills, so i am not really interested in using them myself (except sometimes healing).

Mage gets access to Grapnel which is a fun spell. Its a CC spell, but the high version can grapple and hold large enemies, allowing a warrior pawn to charge up a huge attack. Sorceror gets access to a lot of debilitation magic and the high damaging magic, so if you do ever change to sorceror don't look down on Miasma. It's their basic spell, but poison is really good in this game and the AoE itself tics for a decent amount of damage when enemies are inside it.

If you move to sorcerer don't overlook Lassitude either! You can virtually stop time for enemies in a relatively large area and finish them with the spell of your choice. It's one of my favorites.

You need to switch to Sorcerer if you want to do heavy damage. I wasn't a big fan of the magick system until J did so. The ice pillar is amazing with the ice staff. I do MASSIVE damage with it. The firewall also destroys enemies just aim the cursor on where you want the wall to be.

I quiet agree(as single and not comboed skills you chose the best ones) let me add some cool one for combos;) Everyone knows bolide hits twice only unless you get very lucky(grand version hits three times) But one thing many people dont pay attention to is that if enemies are close together the huge aoe ensures they get hit way more...how to abuse it? There are two skills which can pull enemies together one is mealstorm the other one is in the MA skillset (use it when your pawn is casting bolide) with these you can deal the highest damage in the whole game (except great sacrifice but you can do this more than three times:)) this deals way more damage than any great cannon combo(with both characters having maximum magick) the reason being is that anything gets hit with 4 or more meteors is deleted...except firedrakes ofcourse due to fire immunity

i love how the tumbnail, and first shown skill is my favorite spell in DD. Edit, i'm fairly certain i have the ring for it and i'm pretty sure it's something like 7 to 9 spikes. i'm a little sad you didn't add the meteor skill, i know you mentioned it but you didn't add it to the list and it's by far one of the most OTT skills out there.

Ive said it once, ill say it again, they NEED to give sorcerers as much love with hybrid classes, as they did mages, rangers, and fighters! There could easily be a sorcerer/mage, sorcerer/fighter, and sorcerer/strider vocation. If you really wanna go overboard, add an assassin/sorcerer.

People talking about mealstrom being the strongest skill in the game, and here I say it is bolide/meteors. Reason I say this is there is a limited numbers of meteirs to hit a target, only 3. You cast bolide, high bolide or even grand whivh generate I think 9 or 10 meteors, only 3 meteors can hit a target. Imagine if no limit.

My favorite, while not as visually impressive, is explosive bolt/rivet. Load up an enemy's weak spots and detonate like firecrackers. Almost guaranteed stun with good chance of ignition. Also tends to blast of collectable beast parts.

Actually most fun character is the one who can climb and shit on enemy weakness like strinder and assassin. But being able to parry also fun like fighter and mk. Unfortunately my current second run is all about magic because i want to try that ma class. Kind of suck when u build physical character than swing to ma. Thr damage meh 😂

My only qualm is that to make a build, you have to play other classes and by the time I consider it 'complete' most of everything is done. Like, I want a Mystic Knight build with good attack and magic dmg. Often having to play assassin and sorcerer which personally sorcerer isnt my favorite but it grants the most Magick.

Maelstrom is one of the worse spells for caster for me. It blocks sight and is dangerous when you cling to opponents that get tossed up up high XD

DD1 DA skills are so much better than DD2 skills and it is depressing. Not to mention the end game content comparison has Even base game DD1 is better than DD2 I hope they course correct.
