this was super helpful, I’ve been emotionally, frustrated and anxious all weekend after receiving negative feedback, but this did help put into perspective for me how even though the person giving me feedback did not do their best job at supporting me, it taught me that I need to be more proactive to ask them to help me do my job the best that I can.

@tehrube Receiving negative feedback is never nice. Negative feedback can be a great opportunity to learn and improve (like any feedback). I am very impressed that you have taken positive steps following the feedback you received - well done as this is not easy!! Glad the video helped. J

Thank you very much for your video! Could you please elaborate a little more on the concept of "not being defensive"? For instance, if you receive negative feedback from your boss, but it arises because they were not fully aware of the context of the situation, wouldn’t it be fair to explain the situation rather than just say "thank you" and leave them with an inaccurate impression? Thank you again!

@IrynaShpyta Educating your boss is really important. It is about how you go about it. You might say "yes, thank you for the feedback. I will go away and think about it careful. Would you mind if I also explain the context of the situation from my point of view and I would welcome any additional feedback afterwards. This is what happened..." Does that help? J

Could you please elaborate on the concept of not assuming the worst? I don’t think I quite understand. Thank you.
@Enhancetraining17 сағат бұрын
@DennisZehner It can be easy to assume the worst case scenario in your head, which can sap your confidence etc. When you are able to, reserve judgement until you have worked through the feedback and thought about the positives that you can take from it. Learning and improving is a much more positive action (and beneficial to you) than remaining angry, upset, annoyed, down etc. Does that help?
