Render Preview: With your animation sequence neatly arranged on the timeline, hitting the "Render View" button provides you with a glimpse of how your character looks under the default editor lighting.
Render Settings: Begin by configuring the render settings to achieve your desired output. Adjust the aspect ratio in the output width and height. In this case, the character is set to be around 200 pixels tall, the output is set to 256 by 256 pixels so, this wont be enough.
Camera Adjustment: Ensure that your camera is correctly positioned. If the imported camera doesn't fit your scene, create a new camera and adjust its rotation and position to capture the character in a side view, which is ideal for platform games. Center the Y-axis on the character for better composition.
Projection: Experiment with different projections to find the one that aligns best with your project. The parallel projection, for instance, is perfect for maintaining platforms in line.
Zoom Value: Adjust the camera's zoom value to get an appropriate character size. Be cautious with animations that might extend the character out of frame, as increasing the output size won't solve the issue.
Fine-Tuning Zoom: If necessary, fine-tune the zoom value to accommodate animations with more dramatic character extensions. Experiment with the zoom value to achieve the desired character size while keeping animations within the frame.
Output Resolution: To ensure your character has sufficient detail, adjust the render resolution. In this example, a resolution of 512 provides the desired character size of nearly 200 pixels.
Output Properties: Configure the output properties, including naming the image, setting the location, and enabling the alpha channel. Select the output format and set the output range based on your project's needs.
Anti-Aliasing: Experiment with anti-aliasing levels to smooth the edges of your images.
Custom Lighting: Consider using custom lighting instead of relying on the default editor lighting. Add lights and experiment with their placement and tints to achieve the desired atmosphere.
Interactive Render Region: Enable the interactive render region option to preview changes in real time, allowing you to adjust your lighting setup until it looks perfect.
Final Rendering: Once you've configured all the settings and lighting to your satisfaction, hit the "Render" button to process your animation sequence.
