I've taken my Action4 to Iceland, including into the lagoons, into 8 hour hikes in the dolomites, surfing, skiing, you name it and I never felt like I needed more than the single battery. Plugging into a tiny USB-C charger, 10 minutes later you're back at or almost at 80%. I may get 1 spare battery and wrap it in cellophane to have next time for tough mudder :) - not sure quite who the 3 battery case is for!

Thanks for this video! I travel several times a year and was debating between this or the Pocket 3 for a small and discreet setup on the go. I love my Sony ZV-E10 for video when I’m sitting down for long periods of time or when I’m taking photos, but I also wanted something to complement that. The durability, weatherproofing and seeing you go out and about with the Action 4 sold it for me. :)

I had my Dji Osmo Action 4 and my Dji Mic 2 for 6 months and after the latest firmware update I had big issues with the video recording freezing and the Audio suddenly stops after a couple of seconds when recording with the Dji Mic 2. When I just bought it and made many videos in Thailand I had no problems and reallly enjoy the setup, now I having problems relying on it. Hoping Dji finds out in my logs what is the problem! Cos when it works I very much enjoy what comes out of the Dji and Mic 2. I like your videos, keep it up😊

I have both the pocket 3 and action 3. I end up using the action more often even though I need an external mic on it because I find it much easier to film with. Waiting to upgrade it to the 5 and sell my pocket 3. Great video as always and hope it helps DJI rid some of the last stock of 4rs 😉

Travel, general use and moto vlogging, brilliant camera especially paired with mic 2. I always have it with me and love it to record motorcycle trips, especially as I can adjust the gain settings for the mic in camera without using the full transmitter set up, I just bought the stand alone mic as I have the original mic kit which still works great with its separate transmitter mounted on my ‘old’ Action 3.

I agree on your points. I bought one some 3 mos ago and love it. A couple bad points IMO. Splitting large files, I shoot in 4K, and it splits the files at about 25 minutes, my shooting practices often just turn on the camera and let it run, I just find this annoying, and unnecessary. Second point, after my own findings, and some extensive forum searching, I agree D Log M sucks. No meta data is recorded to the file, either fumble around grading it yourself, or use a LUT to convert it to REC709......not everybody wants to output everything in REC709 :(

I once regulary film the entire day rideing my motorcycle using a Sony FDR X3000 connected to an external power bank and only had to change the sd card after 5.5 hours... and you're telling me you need 3 batteries for an entire day o shooting??? Maybe for filming intermitently for no longer then 5-10 min per session... but not all of us use the camera that way! I understand that a majority of users only film for 5 to 10 min or even less, but... Don't want to miss a gorgeous land scape or event just because I had the camera off, so I just shoot the entire trip... even the breaks for gas and/or eating.

A low light mode for DJI Osmo Action 4 would be welcome, as it is with DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Action 4 does quite poorly in low light, at night with street lights. Pocket 3 films unexpectedly well in low light, but it has the disadvantage of being very fragile.

It’s up to you whether you want to or not. If you’re happy with the look that you get in the Normal colour profile then there’s no need to. If you want to learn to colour grade so that your footage looks exactly how you like, then you can.

Literally ordered earlier today the exact set up you have there, including the DJI 2 TX mic. I did get the Hero 12 but I sent it back as it just fell short of what I was expecting. I decided to get it now as I've read that the action 5 isn't going to be a massive upgrade apparently and the price is nice right now. I have the Hohem iSteady pro 4 which I'll break out on special occasions. Thanks for the video, it's made me confident I've made the right choices.

@@user-zc7bf7rn7v I really wanted to like it but it wasn't very good in low light and had tearing in the video due to the stabilization. I got the creator bundle and found that the mic picked up far to much ambient sound with no option to adjust the gain. So I got the DJI Mic 2 but for some reason GoPro wouldn't allow it to connect via Bluetooth. By this time I had enough and sent I back. Add to that the front screen wasn't a touch screen whereas the Action 4 is. I also prefer the general colour and look to the DJI that I've seen here on YT. There's possibly more but that's all I can think of for the moment, I'm sure the DJI isn't perfect but from what I've seen since buying the GoPro, the Action 4 is a better choice.

@@user-zc7bf7rn7v DJI don't sell the receiver separately so you would have to buy the full mic system rather than just the Transmitter. You also have to use the Media mod for the receiver so it starts getting expensive. Also I can't use the Hohem Gimbal with the Media Mod attached. Honestly, I just wanted a simpler system that works and the DJI works best for me at an overall lower cost.

Thanks! I edit in Final Cut Pro. If I’m editing on my phone to upload to Instagram, I use CapCut. But for quick family videos, I use DJI Mimo or LightCut.

I have 2 main cameras and I dont use them much at the moment just because I have gone camera shy a bit but plan to get over it and get back to it (lol) But I have Sony ZV E10 (MK1) and the canon 200D. I like the idea of the car window mount as I could make use of my drives to and from work to vlog my thoughts. The Action 4 seems ok.
